About this property
Ripple 23 by Savynomad Harbour Residences
Hanging right on the bastions, this quaint historical home is 3 steps down from street level yet at the door/window you can view the Grand Harbour and Three Cities. It is in a serene location but in central Valletta, close to the Bus terminus, shops and Valletta's historic monuments and culture centres. This ground floor studio has traditional vaulted ceilings, a historic bed nook, a reading pod with views plus all the modern amenities. Work smart, play hard, rest easy the savynomad way.
The space
Experience the brand new feeling of this recently refurbished studio apartment. This quaint 35 square metre accomodation comes with what you need to relax or to be productive: A table that doubles as a working desk with blazing speed internet access, wired ethernet, USB charging points and universal sockets that keep you productive: Ideal for Digital Nomads. A well equipped kitchen inclusive of washer-dryer for longer term accomodation, espresso machine, toaster, microwave and oven, hob, ironing facilities, air conditioning, high pressure shower, king size premium memory foam bed in a heritage bed nook, plush 2-person sofa, 43 inch TV with the possibility to access your Netflix subscription and other channels, etc. Plus your reading nook to sit back and watch the world go by: people, ships, cars, cruiseliners, boats and some beautiful sunrise and sunset.
Guest access
This Savynomad Suite is easily accessible with 3 steps down from St Anthony Street (Triq Sant Anton. Free non-metered street parking lies in front of the accomodation. A parking area is 50 meters up the street. During weekdays 8am and 3pm, parking just in front of the accomodation can be a challenge.
Other things to note
The property has just been completely refurbished but all the original heritage features have been kept and painstakingly restored. Beautiful vaulted ceilings. Lovely honey-coloured Maltese limestone. Although at street level the accomodation offers good privacy with double glazing in windows and reflective glass.
It is good for guests to know that this home is a restored historic 500 year old building that shows the traditional Maltese architecture and the beauty of the exposed Maltese stone and vaulted ceilings. Due to the porous and humid nature of Maltese globigerina limestone and the way these buildings were constructed hundreds of years ago, the honey-coloured stone walls tend to flake a little. Through the stay expect to see some tiny flakes here and there. It's part of the experience of living in an authentic Maltese townhouse in Valletta.
During the office hours when guests are usually away on siteseeing, cars are usually parked in front of the accommodation. So seaviews can be disrupted by this. However, in the late afternoons and evenings when guests are back from site-seeing, one can sit outside next to the door, or as Maltese tradition goes: temporarlily take a chair and coffee table outside next to the bastion parapet and enjoy the harbour views at sunset.
