About this property
Salt 54 by Savynomad Harbour Residences Valletta
Salt 54 by Savynomad is a small quaint ground floor studio that forms part of a historic home in a romantic traditional stepped street that the Knights of Malta used to reach Castille. A 7 minute walk to City Gate & Valletta's historic & cultural centres. Bars, restaurants and entertainments spots just round the corner. This place comes with traditional wooden beams, patterned floor tiles & modern amenities thrown in: desk, USB charging, Ethernet wall sockets plus a modern ensuite bathroom.
The space
Experience the brand new feeling of this recently refurbished studio apartment. This quaint 24 square metre accomodation comes with all you need to fulfil our credo at Savynomad: Work Smart - Play Hard - Rest Easy. In a relatively small space you have a dining table that doubles as a working desk with blazing speed internet access, wired ethernet, USB charging points and universal socket that keep you productive: Ideal for Digital Nomads. A well equipped kitchen inclusive of washer-dryer for longer term accomodation, espresso machine, toaster, microwave and oven, hob, ironing facilities, air conditioning, a sizeable high pressure shower, double bed, etc. All this within genuine heritage setting.
Just a heads-up: a neighbouring property (not ours!) is being renovated from now until October 2025, Monday to Saturday. You might see some scaffolding but your amazing harbour views and entrance remain clear. Work happens only between 9am and 5:30pm, and the neighbour has agreed to keep noise to a minimum.
Guest access
Set in an idyllic pedestrian street, the accomodation is easily accessible by car from Battery Street or from St Anthony Street. Free non-metered street parking lies around the corner. During weekdays between 8am and 3pm, parking in the vicinity can be a challenge . However most guests are out with their car during that time and usually get back to park later in the afternoon when free car parking is much more available closeby.
Other things to note
Experience living in a typical traditional Maltese house in Valletta. Due to the way these buildings were constructed hundreds of years ago, ceilings in this apartment can be a bit low for some tall people. That's because of the handcrafted Maltese ceiling slabs and wooden beams which create that cosy feeling to it. Floor to Ceiling slabs: 2 metres. Floor to Wooden beams: 1.88 metres.
It is good for guests to know that this home is a restored historic 500 year old building that shows the traditional Maltese architecture and the beauty of the exposed Maltese stone. Also due to the porous nature of Maltese globigerina limestone , the honey-coloured stone walls tend to flake a little. Through the stay expect to see some tiny flakes here and there. It's part of the experience of living in an authentic Maltese townhouse in Valletta.
