About this property
3-bed Grade II listed dog-friendly house in the heart of Tenby, close to harbour
Wheelhouse is a three-storey terraced house, steeped in history and Grade II listed as a late Georgian style house in one of the oldest streets of Tenby, a stone's throw from the historic harbour and within very easy walking distance of a plethora of pubs, restaurants and local amenities. It is also my childhood home, and now available to let for the first time in 2025!
You can expect quirky cosiness, blending old and new to create a real home-away-from-home. The property comprises:
TOP FLOOR:
* Master bedroom feat king-sized bed & ample clothes storage
* Modern bathroom feat bidet toilet (with heated seat!) & spacious walk-in shower
MIDDLE FLOOR:
* Second bedroom feat double bed, blackout curtains & ample clothes storage
* Room affectionately known as 'The Disco' when I was growing up, feat brand new Swyft Model 04 sofabed providing the option to use as either a third bedroom or additional 'snug' room (please specify preference when booking if you are a group of 3/4) [beware low-flying seagull!]
* Extensive 'landing library'
GROUND FLOOR:
* Living room feat dining table, board games, TV & old skule PS1
* Fully-equipped kitchen feat dishwasher, washing machine, Dolce Gusto coffee machine, large fridge/freezer & authentic Tenby Pottery crockery
* Small part-covered private courtyard, leading to traditional outdoor toilet (only for the brave!)!
PLUS:
* Free wi-fi
* Well-behaved dogs are welcome (I love dogs) - nominal fee of £15 per pet per stay
* Solar panels
* Recycling facilities
* Gas central heating
* Iron & ironing board / hairdryer / beach towels
* Local private host readily on hand for any queries
A few things to be aware of:
* Unfortunately, as with most locations within the town walls, there is no dedicated parking, however you are usually able to pull up at the end of the lane to unload luggage and then parking is available ~5mins walk away (see Five Arches / multi-storey car parks; free on-street parking can also be found, subject to demand). Please note that the town centre is pedestrianised during the hours of 11am-5:30pm in the peak summer months (beginning of July to mid September), so vehicular access is not possible at these times.
* Pets are welcome, and I have a dog myself, so the house may not be suitable for those with pet allergies
* Please bear in mind when booking that this is an old three-storey house with two flights of fairly steep stairs

About the host
Your host
Hi, I'm Rosie, and this is the house I grew up in! I moved away when I was 18 to study Maths and then pursue a career in Data Analytics, but always returned to visit regularly, my love for Tenby never diminished and I've been back in the area permanently since 2022. I'm now attempting to fulfil my dream to quit the rat-race and share the Tenby experience through hosting this holiday let - opening for business February 2025! Can't wait to meet my first guests!
Why they chose this property
Tenby has it all; the beaches are spectacular, there are so many awesome pubs and restaurants to choose from, plenty of events and activities, and I enjoy the contrast between the hustle & bustle of the summer months compared with the peace and quiet of the winter.
What makes this property unique
The personal touch.. This is a family home converted for use as a holiday let, rather than purpose-designed, and I'm trying to preserve its sense of character and quirkiness. I've known this house my entire life and it is the only short-term rental I'm managing, so I'm devoting a lot of attention to it! Also the location is ideal; it's a quiet lane but walk a minute or two in one direction and you'll be on the beach, a minute the other way and you could find yourself in a pub!
