“Hidden Lodge” is a cozy apartment in the center of Como, right at the entrance of the historic city walls and just a few steps from all major points of interest and the lake.

Recently renovated, this modern-style apartment is equipped with every comfort, making it a perfect choice for a couple or a family.

ADDITIONAL INFO

The apartment can accommodate up to 4 people. It features a comfortable double bed, a fully equipped modern kitchen, a living room with a double sofa bed, and a spacious furnished terrace for outdoor dining. There are also two bathrooms, one of which is complete with a shower. The apartment includes air conditioning and free Wi-Fi.

Baby cribs are available at an additional cost.

The apartment is located on the first floor and there is no elevator.

PARKING

The apartment does not have a private parking space. Parking is available only within blue-striped areas. You can pay at the parking meter, which issues a ticket to be placed on the car’s dashboard, or you can use the \"Easy Park\" app. Paid parking hours are from 8 AM to 8 PM.

SURROUNDINGS

The apartment is located just outside the historic center—a lively area filled with bars, restaurants, shops, churches, and historic buildings. During the summer season, the streets are bustling throughout the day, while they are quieter in winter.

GETTING AROUND

The main points of interest, the lake, and train stations are easily reachable on foot from the apartment.

ASF buses serve Como and the surrounding towns. Tickets can be purchased on board (cash only) or at authorized points (Como bus station in Piazza Matteotti, bars, and tobacco shops). Taxi services are also available.

From the pier, ferries connect to Cernobbio, Torno, Bellagio, Varenna, Colico, and other lakeside towns. Please note that in high season, there may be long queues at the ticket office before boarding. Tickets can also be purchased online at the \"Navigazione Laghi\" website.

From Como San Giovanni train station, you can travel directly to Milan Central Station and Switzerland (Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno). From Como Nord Lago station, you can reach Milan Cadorna station.

TIPS

✔ Dedicate a day to visiting the beautiful towns around the lake. Como is the urban center, but the lakeside towns are true gems with stunning villas.

✔ Wear comfortable shoes, especially when walking along the lake or exploring small villages.

✔ There are many public drinking fountains in the area, and the water is safe to drink unless otherwise indicated. Tap water is also drinkable. Bring a reusable bottle!

✔ For a relatively easy hike with breathtaking mountain views, try the Greenway del Lago di Como—a well-marked trail connecting lakeside villages from Colonno to Griante with minimal inclines. A bus will take you to the starting point in Colonno.

✔ Look for traditional restaurants where you can try local dishes, especially lake fish specialties.

✔ In Italy, many small shops and services close in the middle of the day, so plan your shopping accordingly.

✔ Lake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the deepest in Italy. Swimming and diving are prohibited in many areas and can be dangerous. However, for those who wish to swim, there are some options:

Outdoor pool near Villa Olmo

Swimming facility near Villa Geno, where you can also swim in the lake. This area has a beach bar, a restaurant, and lifeguards for your safety.

Lido di Bellagio and the pebble beach in San Giovanni are great for those who want to explore Bellagio, a stunning town in the middle of the lake.

Many locals and visitors enjoy going to Nesso, where adventurous swimmers can dive into the lake from the ancient Roman bridge near the waterfall.

✔ Como is in a mountainous region. Although the surrounding Pre-Alps may not seem very high, the climate is influenced by the nearby mountains, and temperatures can change quickly. When hiking, always check the weather and bring warm, waterproof clothing.
