I have used VRBO many times and almost always leave high reviews. Unfortunately, this time I cannot leave a high review. On a positive note, the location is very good. It is only about a 5 minute walk to the marina or to old town Lagos and just a 10 minute walk to a large grocery store - Pingo Doce. The negatives are: the house has a bad odor. It smells musty and the bathrooms have a slight sewage smell. The living room furniture, rug, stools need updated. The street is dirtier than most streets in Lagos with trash. There is a club a couple blocks away which plays live music nightly audible in both upstairs bedrooms. Parking is a bit challenging but we were able to find free parking within a couple blocks.

Skip it. Not a great value.
For the price I expected a larger place. The pictures are accurate but it is way smaller then you will think looking at the pictures. The upstairs bathroom is like an airplane toilet. The outside balcony is very small. The kitchen is tight.
The biggest problem is the persistent smell of sewage coming from the main bath which is between the living room and kitchen. No hair dryer was a problem for my wife. The AC unit in the master bedroom sounded like it was ready to fail but it didn’t. Also the hot water heater is like camping. You cannot take a good shower. Either the water was very hot or very cold alternating during the shower. We are in Portugal for a month and that was by far the worst place we stayed and it is the second most expensive.
The good things:
The WiFi was great.
The place was clean
The beds were comfortable
The location was good
Parking wasn’t a problem on the street nearby.
Check in/out was easy.
The street is quiet
