Welcome to our 102+-year-old vintage gem, just a 10-minute walk to downtown.
This charming apartment blends historic character with modern updates, making it the perfect spot to explore the area while enjoying a cozy place to land.
The neighborhood also houses restaurants (Nine Mile. Tall Johns, and All Day Darling) and the Asheville Visitor Center. 2 parks with tennis courts and pickleball are close by, too.
The Space The home is over a century old, and part of the kitchen and full bed area was thoughtfully converted from what was once a covered porch. Because of the home’s age, there is a slight slant in the flooring in that section. We like to think of it as part of the original character, but do keep an eye on your step.
Please note: you walk through the second bedroom to access the kitchen.
Sleeping Arrangements • Front bedroom: King bed + single futon • Living room: Futon that folds out into a full bed • Rear bedroom (off the kitchen): Full bed
There are two TVs, one in the king bedroom and one in the living room.
Kitchen & Amenities The kitchen includes: • Full-size refrigerator • Stove • Coffee pot • Keurig (bring your favorite K-cups) • Electric kettle
For safety, the apartment is equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
Comfort & Convenience • New heating and air system to keep you comfortable year-round • On-demand hot water heater (let the water run for about a minute when first turned on) • Washer and dryer on site (not inside the unit)
If you’re looking for historic charm, walkability to downtown, and comfortable sleeping space for a group, this spot checks all the boxes. Enjoy your stay!

Great, easy property! You can tell the owners put a lot of thought into the place & making sure their renters are comfortable! It was a very easy check in and check out process! It’s a cute little stay very conveniently located. We have family in the area so we plan to rent this place again!
We enjoyed our stay in this wonderful neighborhood, easily walkable to downtown. We had a friendly and communicative host and the apartment was clean with a very comfortable bed, thoughtful touches, and adorable dog downstairs we got to visit with. We found we had ample room for our family with a teen / tween. May have felt small if we were two couples, with the sleeping porch/ kitchen situation. Overall, home worked well for a stay for a wedding weekend with family.

Brin thank you for the kind review.
It can be difficult not to take it personally if someone criticizes my home. 😎
We look forward to having you back sometime. August is a great option when most of the southeast is just too hot. Lots to do in the mountains in the summertime.
Anyway, thanks again. Come see us again soon.!
Location was perfect and the space was clean. The owner has put a lot of care and thought to what big and small details will make the guests stay more comfortable. I would recommend staying here for anyone looking at traveling to Asheville.
Lovely place in a wonderful part of Asheville. It has loads of character, and has everything you would want. It slept 4 adults very comfortably, and even the futon sofa in the living room was comfortable. The listing was accurate and we really enjoyed our stay.
Great location. There is a second floor stairway that gets you there. Place had what we needed. The faucets in bath drip and we could not get the common tv to operate The area is quite at night and pretty during the day. Everybody seems to be an avid gardener..
My girls and I really enjoyed our stay here this summer. The neighborhood is quiet and is great to just walk around and see the historic properties. Many places are a quick drive or even walk away. James has made this apartment very inviting and comfortable and clean. We would 100% come back to stay here to see more of Asheville.
Nice convenient location close to downtown but far enough away to still be quiet
Place is not the ritz but it is super convenient and there’s plenty of room for 2-4 people. It’s in the listing the kitchen is through the second sleeping area but no big deal. Nice porch, .9 miles from downtown-Cherokee center. Will come again if going ton Asheville. The neighborhood is nice, you can walk around and there’s a lot of people walking dogs and enjoying the area.
This spot is great for east access to downtown allowing you to skip the parking and traffic. James was a great host in touch with us upon arrival with recommendations. The home is older with a lot of Montford character. Just what we were looking for as we explored the beautiful neighborhood. Perfect place for a quick trip to town. We will book again!
Listing was as described and was close proximity to everything Asheville. One day we walked and did some sight seeing of the neighborhood. Uber/Lyft very affordable to getting to downtown as well.
We can’t wait to come back again.
Great location within walking distance (1 mile) or cheep Uber to the bars and shops of Asheville. Ate out every meal as the kitchen was small but that fine by us. Two great restaurants right around the corner we might not otherwise experienced. Would book again for our low maintenance group of girls.
A charming old home in a historic neighborhood. A lot of thought went into creating the guest space and James (the host) was as accommodating and caring and friendly as he could be. And let's just talk about that bed, shall we? Man, I'm going to have to find one of those mattresses. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
We enjoyed our stay very much. We have stayed in the Asheville area many times and this was the most affordable and convenient location yet. We were able to easily drive and ride share everywhere we needed to in the cold weather and if it was summer, we definitely would have walked to downtown. The hosts were responsive and had everything we needed in the home. Directions were clear and the space was larger than expected. I would recommend anyone to stay as long as they are ok with s large flight of stairs on the way in.
This property was cozy and the bed (in the master BR) was very comfortable. The kitchen was a little difficult to navigate, as both the microwave and the cord for the overhead light were hard to reach. These are small details which did not take away from our overall satisfaction.
It was perfect us. Girls trip weekend and this apartment was perfect. I did NOT pay attention to the details and did not realize there is no stove or oven so I packed food to cook. It’s a kitchenette with a microwave, a toaster oven and a mini fridge. Totally fine for the weekend and so many restaurants in walking distance. Also I didnt Have to cook so it worked out haha. It’s an old home so expect old home quirks. We both thought it was charming, clean and beds were very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
The unit wasn’t the worst, but it did have some flaws. We found some dog food that had been missed by the cleaning crew on the floor. One night the hot water did not work. But it was a good location and a pretty cute unit.

Not impressed
The unit needs some loving. Dirty air vents, cobwebs on the windows, felt unclean. The second bedroom has no door and is part of the kitchenette, which is not equipped for cooking a meal. Tiny sink and fridge, old toaster oven. It has a cupboard dedicated to pots and pans but no stove top. The main bedroom is comfortable and spacious. For the price I did not feel like we got our money's worth. Have to be honest. I reached out to the hosts after our stay pointing out some of the issues but did not receive a response. I would not recommend this place to my friends or family.

Hi Stephen! We were able to respond, actually, but have not heard back from you yet.
Unfortunately, due to the strict homestay regulations in our area, we are not able to have a stove and the sink in the kitchen needs to adhere to a certain size.
I did speak to the cleaners, we have scheduled a deep clean and are happy to pressure-wash the outside to remove the cobwebs. Sorry your stay felt as though it wasn’t up to par. We would have been happy to fix these issues if these were brought up during your stay! Thanks!
Convenient location to just about everywhere. Montford is an old established neighborhood with lots of charm. The house is old. A steep staircase accesses the apartment. Like the other reviewers, we found the king bed super comfortable. Plenty of towels. We didn’t need to cook, so the kitchen was fine for breakfast.
A few comments about some overlooked cleaning items. The bathmat in the tub was mildewed, the drip coffee maker had moldy grinds still in it, and a water bottle was under the couch.
We were charged for an extra person (our adult son), when the description advertises accommodations for 4. Don’t understand that
one. We were 3 total. Our final night the noise and bass beat music from downstairs lasted until 11:30. The next morning, the owner told me we should have banged on the floor. We did. It was frustrating.
The WI-FI was a little touchy if too many people were on it at once,
Overall, it was satisfactory.
Quaint little upstairs apartment, perfect for a couple or maybe 3 adults. We had our infant with us as well and the space was just fine for us. Perfect neighborhood for walking downtown or to some breweries. Great communication from the host. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Asheville.
