Lovely cottage in excellent condition with beautiful views. Lots of lovely touches to the finish of the cottage. It was a great base to explore the area, warm and cosy to cone home to. Hosts were helpful and friendly.
Very spacious, clean, cosy, comfortable cottage, Host amazing. The location was perfect. Close to John o’Groats, Dunnet beach the Castle & Gardens of Met & Thurso.
My husband and I had the best experience at Sarah’s VRBO. From all of Sarah’s prompt communications, to her directions to help us find her place, to suggestions on where to eat and buy food- we couldn’t be happier with our stay. Sarah’s place was quiet, rather remote (but what we needed after several hectic days of travel) and well situated for seeing the sights around John O’Groats, Thurso and the North Coast 500. Sarah is above and beyond one of the best hosts we have ever encountered on our travels (staying at VRBOs). My husband and I look forward to staying at Sarah’s VRBO again in the future only for a longer period of time.
A very special and unforgettable stay. After my triathlon in London (T100), I travelled to Caithness with my 75-year-old mother, who had come from Romania to visit me in Germany. I wanted to offer her something truly special – and Firthview Holiday Cottage was the perfect place. The cottage is beautifully secluded, surrounded by pure nature, sheep, and the ocean – no neighbours, just peace and stunning views. We stayed for 13 nights and loved the quiet, the fresh air, and the amazing weather (surprisingly warm and clear for Scotland!).Though we had a cold after London, we still explored places like John o’Groats and Castle of Mey. Unfortunately, we got a flat tire in the middle of nowhere – but Sarah, our wonderful host, came to the rescue with her husband and sons. They helped us get everything sorted and even arranged new tires. The next day, she even drove us to the 8 Doors Distillery so we didn’t miss our tour. The cottage was spotless, cozy, modern, and well-equipped – with a lovely wooden table out back where we could enjoy breakfast in the sun. Sarah and her family didn’t just help us – they truly cared. Their kindness turned a difficult moment into a lasting memory. We left with full hearts and new friends. I hope to return one day – to train in this amazing landscape and to see these lovely people again.Thank you, Sarah!
