Super peaceful and beautiful. I live near a busy road so the peace and quiet was exactly what I needed. It was very clean and the hot tub was an amazing bonus. I highly recommend it.
The best place to stay in Maggie Valley. Owners are super nice and easy to deal with. Beautiful house. A wonderful experience. Will be booking every year here.
Our experience at the Slice of Heaven was immaculate! My family and I enjoyed all the amenities the cabin had to offer. We enjoyed grilling out and making s’mores by the campfire. Perfect location for anyone looking to take their family to Cataloochee ski area.
We have a great extended weekend at the cabin. We enjoyed the hot tub each day of our stay. The view is amazing. Communication with the owner was easy and prompt. The cabin was as expected. The switchbacks up to the cabin were a bit much for me but thankfully the hubby had no issue driving on them. The location was perfect for our plans to do some hiking. The town of Maggie Valley had much more food options for me than I expected! The mom and pop Organic Coffee Shop was our favorite… they have fresh gluten free bakery!
We booked this cabin for a week long Thanksgiving getaway. The property was beautiful and quiet. Hot tub views are amazing at sunset. We burned an outdoor fire almost every night. The house itself is older but is perfect for a small group. We brought our pup with us and he enjoyed laying by the fire in the living room. Highly recommend this property for a nice break.
We were in the cabin when hurricane Helene was approaching the U.S.; so had to cut our stay short. Eric and Stacy reimbursed us out missed nights....their idea...that is the kind of people they are....good.
Know before you go (not in property description):
1. There are speed bumps in the road on the way up (just ticked me off)
2. The fireplace is GAS.
3. The den furniture is so comfy!
4. The new mattresses are FIRM.
5. The most peaceful place we've ever stayed in Maggie Valley.
6. Absolute bliss on the covered porch. The rockers are so nice. We take seat cushions on trips and it made sitting and rocking a memorable part of our vacation.
First and foremost, the view was phenomenal! We absolutely LOVE the mountains and having a spectacular view only adds to making our vacation even better! Eric was quick to respond when we had any questions. The cabin was very well stocked; the only thing we had to get was our groceries for the week we were there. I absolutely did NOT want to leave, but as the saying goes, "all good things must come to an end."

Place needs real attention.
Very rundown. Soft spots in the floors .. felt like you could fall through. Varnish flaking off the furniture and cabinets. The lining of the hot tub is crackled and rough. The kitchen was not well stocked. Location was hard and the property disappointing
When we went looking for a rustic cabin in WNC, this gem really stuck out especially because of the stunning views of Maggie Valley and surrounding mountains. Honestly, I think we spent most of the time on the front porch taking it all in. They had a big beautiful picture window in the living room with a super comfy couch and two club chairs, perfect for bringing the outside in. The gas fireplace was so easy to operate, which was perfect because the nights were kind of chilly (even in August!). We enjoyed the cabin so much, one day we didn't even leave. I sure appreciate that they accept pets, as our little Jack Russell Terrier, Abby, LOVED IT! We will definitely stay again in this romantic getaway in the heart of the mountains of WNC.
We had a wonderful stay during the 4th of July week. We never watched fireworks looking down at them. The view was breathtaking. Everything that was thought/or needed was there. Nicely done. We loved it, love the town and the surroundings. You can't go wrong here.
We spent a nice long weekend at the cabin. We were looking for a place with a beautiful view and this was perfect. We enjoyed relaxing on the front porch at the end of our day and was great during a rain storm. We would stay here again. My only suggestion would be to bring your own coffee.
We biked, we hiked, we spent hours in the hot tub. It was a perfect getaway. Spectacular views and a quick drive to all the breweries. We had everything we needed to make meals at the cabin and enjoyed relaxing with HGTV and NCAA playoff games in front of the cozy fireplace. Plus, we could bring our pup! We'll be back.
We were visiting for spring break vacation. The cabin was perfect for our family. The cabin is laid out well and had everything that we needed. Comfortable beds. The view was great! We made smores after our day hiking. The kids loved it. The road up to the cabin is part of the adventure and the kids were amazed.
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is small but was comfortable for what we needed. The views were amazing. Sitting on the couch, sitting at the kitchen table, on the porch or in the hot tub you had an unbelievable view of the mountains. The cabin is located high up in the mountain and was so peaceful. I look forward to my return visit.
Nice smaller cabin located high up above Maggie Valley.
Perfect cabin for a small family. Clean and cozy with everything you need to enjoy your time in the mountains. The views are outstanding, the furniture comfortable and area is cute. Only issue was the heater. When it kicks on the makes a horrible band that wakes up everyone in the cabin. So a night's sleep was a little tough because it was cold and the heater kicked on a lot. Other than that, it was a great little cabin located in a great place with amazing views.
We loved our vacation stay here. It’s quite far up the mountain and quiet. It was super cozy and we even got some snow on the 2nd morning!
Hosts provided a PDF with detailed directions and alternative route in the case of inclement weather. Definitely have this saved on your phone. It was so helpful!
All the basic amenities we’d expect. It is an older home but that is part of the charm. Everything worked great and we felt safe and secure. Would love to visit again on our next trip!

About the host

We have called Charleston, SC home for about 15 years now and love it. Originally from Cherry Hill, New Jersey, my wife Stacy is a Yoga teacher working with diverse groups including children in low income schools, physically challenged individuals, public classes and private lessons to name a few. I was born and bred in Canada 30 miles west of Toronto. After finishing university I did my Masters in Australia before travelling and working abroad and in North America. I settled in Charleston where I work as a Realtor, investor, renovator, and manage my long term and vacation rentals. We're a family of 3 with our young daughter Satya. We visit our cabin and other mountain property as often as possible. The cabin is a great spot and we're happy to share it with you.
Why they chose this property
We purchased our cabin back in Oct 2017. Whenever we're travelling our vacation home search filter always starts with...hot tub, fire place and pet friendly. The log cabin feel and views are always a bonus as well. So when we saw the Slice of Heaven log cabin come available we knew we had found our spot. We were sold on the stunning, unbeatable views to be enjoyed from either hot tub or rocking chairs along with a fireplace and a fire pit all in a quiet, private setting. Not to mention the 2 bedrooms and 2 baths plus a pull out couch allowing us to bring family and friends to enjoy it with us. We've got two other vacation rentals as well. One is just outside of Asheville where we've just added a patio and hot tub. The other is on the water with a dock in Beaufort, SC. Touch base if you would like more info on either.
What makes this property unique
Log cabin, unbeatable views, hot tub, first picture says it all while still not doing the views justice. Enjoy the peace and calm of Maggie Valley or head to Asheville or Waynesville for any number of activities. At the end of the day relax inside by the gas fireplace, play games and enjoy AT&T Wifi & DirectTV.
