Want to get away in the Rocky Mountains? We have the best kept secret for you. This cabin is only 3 years old and located in the beautiful Valley of the Sun, just north of Fairplay and about 35 minutes south of the Breckenridge ski resort. Full unobstructed views of Sheep Mountain from the deck, surrounded by pine and aspen trees and plenty of wonderful wildlife. Granite in kitchen with hardwood floors and gas stove with breakfast bar. Gas fireplace in living room, log bunk bed, foosball table, and separate living area for the kids to play and watch TV while the adults have a glass of wine by the fireplace. 2 car attached garage with plenty of additional parking in the driveway. Lots of places to hike right from the property and unexpected adventures abound. Wonderful getaway for multiple families where memories will sure to be made. A snowy family getaway

Bill and Carrie were excellent hosts and their cabin is absolutely gorgeous! The property is beautiful and the cabin is super cozy. It perfectly suited our needs and beyond. Comfortably accommodated our family of 5 including a fully stocked kitchen with all the appliances you could need! You definitely need 4WD/snow tires if staying during the winter months. Would absolutely book again!

Winter wonderland

We are a family of four and truly enjoyed this brief but magical getaway. The house was lovely and decorated for the holidays, which absolutely filled it with warmth and good cheer. It was well stocked for cooking and daily needs as well as with games, puzzles and other entertainment activities. The owners were helpful/easily accessible and left clear and easy to follow instructions re: the workings of the abode. We’re thrilled to have stayed here and highly recommend it to others!

Great Cabin Near Fairplay

This cabin was just as advertised and a great spot for exploring both Breckenridge/Summit County and Buena Vista/Salida. Extremely clean and great communication from Carrie and Bill. We'd definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Great secluded cabin

The cabin was great, the only thing is the miles of gravel roads to get to the house were full of potholes and not kept up on. The nearest town is at least 20 minutes away. Other than that, the cabin itself was nice, the hot tub was very enjoyable, and the owners were good with communication.

The house was beautiful! Carrie and Bill were very responsive and even messages to check that everything was going smoothly. The cabin had everything you could ever need, including pantry staples and bathroom toiletries. We were worried about the roads and access to the house since we aren’t used to driving in the snow but we did not have any problems. The county roads were well maintained even with all the snow we got during our stay. We would definitely recommend this cabin if you want something off the beaten path! A great experience!

Cozy cabin

We’ve stayed all over the world in VRBO’s and this cabin was by far one of the coziest. It was the little touches that made a big difference. We had plans to ski and explore more, but our family was so happy just chilling. A much needed break from reality with family we have t seen in awhile. Thank You for opening your home to us!

Breathtaking

Bill and Carrie's cabin on the mountain is one of the best ways to enjoy the beauty and natural splendor of Colorado's wilderness. The drive up and down into town really puts perspective on the amazing landscape and hypnotic scenery that the state has to offer. Any questions or concerns about the lodging or landscape were tactfully addressed by the owners in a timely manner and you can definitely tell there is a lot of heartfelt sentiment and pridefull attachment to the location and amenities provided for guest to feel at home during there stay. Truly a magnificent home away from home!

Snowy majestic views

This property exceeded expectations! The house had everything we needed and then some! The location is secluded which we LOVE and an easy 35 min trip to shop/dine/explore in Breckenridge. Our favorite part was just sitting back watching the views and relaxing in the hot tub while the snow fell! We will be back and bringing friends next time! Pro tip- if you aren’t a local visitor the altitude sickness can really slow you down. Next time we will rent an oxygen concentrator. The altitude sickness was tough for this Memphis crew. Highly recommend this property for couples and/or families! Thanks Carrie and Bill!

Overall a great experience except for shoveling

Overall everything was as advertised. We had a great time and loved the location. The only complaint we had was that we couldn't get into the driveway without shoveling for an hour. The driveway was clear but the ridge at the end of the driveway where the plow cleaned the road was 3' high and 10' wide. I would think you could have that opened up for your guests when they arrive. Luckily I have 2 sons who could shovel to open up the drive so we could to the house. Other than that I we highly recommend this property.

Cozy and fun

For starters even before arriving the communication with Carrie and Bill was excellent. They were always quick to respond and provided excellent directions and instructions on how to get to the cabin. The cabin itself was BEAUTIFUL! Even more impressive in person than in photos (and it looks beautiful in the photos!) The space was perfect for our family of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids). The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to make meals together. We loved hanging out upstairs by the fire, and watching movies downstairs while eating some fresh popcorn. We didn't get to try the hot tub as we ended up having to cut our stay a bit shorter due to a medical emergency. But even in the midst of our family emergency Carrie and Bill were so kind and communicative through the process. We're so grateful for their humanity and kindness. We came in the winter and we would say to hear their recommendation to have the proper vehicle. It can snow often and the roads can become dangerous fast if you don't have the proper vehicle. Then, to top it all off we really appreciated the way they honored our military by providing an additional discount off the nightly rate. As a military family, we're very grateful. We would highly recommend this beautiful cabin for you and your family! Thank you again for everything!

Amazing cabin in the mountains!

We had the best experience at this cabin for our Christmas vacation! Everything was just as described in the listing and the hosts were great. This cabin had so much to offer for all ages. Cornhole boards and a fire pit on the deck and a hot tub with an amazing view. The kids loved the game room and all that it had to offer. The kitchen was well stocked with any kind of gadget that you could need for cooking. We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a place to stay in the mountains!

Moose at the cabin

Communication and check in were very easy. The cabin was exactly as described. The views were incredible and we saw tons of wildlife! A moose was right outside the cabin on the first morning and we saw some elk and more moose not too far down the road. Its within easy driving distance of Breckenridge and Colorado Springs so theres a ton of stuff to do. We did one day in Colorado Springs, we took the train up to Pikes Peak and went to Garden of the Gods (which I highly recommend!) We did a bunch of shopping in Breckenridge and are leaving with lots of cool souvenirs. We made dinner at the Cabin every night, the kitchen had all the essentials we needed and we took the hosts advice and picked up groceries in Denver. We did end up going to the market in Fairplay and I actually didn't think the prices were too bad and they had a large selection. Overall we loved this cabin and hope to be back! Hopefully we'll get to see a bear next time 😄

Breathtaking!

This has become our favorite vacation to date! We had a comfortable cabin to stay in with AMAZING views! Plenty of space to play our annual family minute-to-win-it games challenge. Snowy hideaway

Let me just say, I did not want to go to Colorado for spring break. My son begged and begged and I finally gave in. Giving in was the best decision!!! The cabin was absolutely gorgeous!! The setting was beautiful! The hosts were incredibly kind and checked in on us during the snowstorm. I could not have asked for a better spring break with my family!! It was exactly what we needed!
