About this property

Beautiful Coach House with Padel Court & Hot Tub

Summary:
The Coach House is a stylish retreat in a peaceful North Devon valley, once servicing the Victorian Rectory next door. Enjoy stunning views from the hot tub or relax on the terrace. There's even a private padel court for active guests! Inside, you'll find a modern open-plan kitchen, dining and living space. Upstairs, two kings and a twin room sleep 6 guests. The master has an ensuite and the others share a sleek bathroom with a luxurious freestanding bath and shower. Private driveway parking completes this unique country and coastal escape.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the coach house, its terrace and the adjacent parking area and padel court. Please be aware, the adjoining Old Rectory is accessed via the same driveway. This is also bookable if you would like complete privacy.

The Neighborhood:
The Coach House offers a peaceful base surrounded by dramatic coastline and rolling countryside. Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Berrynarbor itself is a tranquil village with a cosy pub and a friendly community feel. It's ideal for those looking to unwind while still being close to Devon’s best sights and activities.

Combe Martin Beach and the wild, rocky shores of Broadsands Cove are nearby, perfect for swimming, kayaking, or simply soaking up the sea air. Just 10 minutes away, Ilfracombe offers a vibrant harbour, the famous Verity sculpture by Damien Hirst, and boat trips to Lundy Island. Exmoor National Park is also close by, with miles of moorland trails and wooded valleys for walking, cycling, and wildlife spotting. Wander the nearby South West Coast Path for breathtaking sea views or explore Watermouth Castle, a fun family attraction.

A little further afield, find world-class surfing in the UK's first World Surfing Reserve. You'll find a range of options to suit all levels, from Woolacombe to Putsborough, Croyde and the expansive Saunton Sands. Most beaches have surf hire and lessons available and you'll also find a wide selection of country pubs, cafes, shops and more!

Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of North Devon, a vehicle is essential for getting around. Private parking on the driveway is available for several vehicles and there is free on-street parking nearby.

Other Things to Note:
Outdoor parties are strictly forbidden, including any day guests. The area is quiet and peaceful, and the local residents are particularly sensitive to noise. They will alert the property manager if this is not complied with.

The padel court usage hours are restricted to:

The Coach House - 10 am to 1 pm
The Old Rectory - 1 pm to 4 pm.

If you would like to use it in the slot for the other property, please get in touch, and we will let you know whether it is available.

The staircase is quite steep and open. The property therefore isn't suitable for those with babies of crawling age or toddlers. It might also not be well suited for those with mobility limitations.

Pets are strictly prohibited due to a severe allergy of the owners.

Interaction with Guests:
We will be available via phone, message or email for the duration of your stay. Please do not hesitate to get in touch!

This property is as described and very attractively designed, in a beautiful setting with incredible views. The management company is very responsive. The hot tub is clean and a lovely way to end the day. However, there are a few things to be aware of that aren't as clear from the listing. First, the neighboring rental is just next door and while their is no noise as the buildings are separate, it can accommodate 14 people so many other people and cars may be walking by your windows to go to/from the carpark and padel court if it is occupied. The hot tub is next to the carpark and there is no privacy from the parking area to the hot tub or deck, and there are no curtains on the windows. Second, if you plan to cook at this property you may wish to bring your own cookware. Cookware is very limited; only two pots that had matching lids, and no skillets, sheet pans or baking dishes of any kind. The stairs are quite steep/tall but not atypical for Europe.

Hi Meredith, Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We’re so pleased you enjoyed the design of the property, the beautiful setting and views, along with the hot tub and responsive communications. We appreciate your additional feedback and are glad you found the listing accurate overall. The neighbouring property is separately occupied, though as mentioned, the buildings are detached and guests have their own private accommodation. We also appreciate your comments regarding the cookware and will review this for future visitors. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us.
