The Parsonage, built in 1880, is a meticulously maintained stately historic home in the heart of all the action in Michigan City’s Arts District. Located just blocks from restaurants, bars, breweries and shopping the property makes for a fun gathering year round. The beaches of Michigan City are within walking distance at just under a mile and there is also ample beach parking. There is a Starbucks across the street in the Outlet and Lakeshore Coffee is a block away. The Michigan City Saturday Farmers Market runs May thru October and is located two blocks away at 8th and Washington. The Blue Chip Casino, library and zoo are less than a mile away. The sweeping 12 foot ceilings, beautiful workmanship and charm of a time gone by greet you as soon as you enter and meet the grand staircase. The home is impressive and has wonderful common rooms for accommodating fun gatherings while enjoying a large HD Smart TV and Free WIFI. There is a charming porch off the Main Floor that is a fantastic spot to enjoy your morning coffee or a late night glass of wine. The Parsonage sleeps maximum of 8 has four bedrooms, one on the main floor and three upstairs. Each bedroom has its own private bath including large jacuzzi bathtubs. The upstairs master has the original library with another large screen TV. A toy closet with classic toys and children’s books helps to entertain our younger guests. The fully appointed kitchen, formal dining room and stunning architecture along with luxury linens make The Parsonage a settings for an unforgettable travel experience.

Girls weekend

The location of the property was so convenient to shopping and great local restaurants! House was well appointed and as described. Very comfortable to hang out and sip coffee in the mornings or sit up with wine and gossip at night. We would definitely choose the Parsonage for another girls trip!

Another Great Stay

We love this property and come back year after year. It is close to outlet shopping and many restaurants. House is clean, well stocked and has a bathroom in each bedroom. Thanks for another great stay!

Wedding Weekend

My bridal party and I stayed at the property over my wedding weekend. The house was absolutely beautiful, and the listing photos do not do it justice! The house is so spacious and was perfect for us to spread out while getting hair and makeup done and still have plenty of room to sit around and hang out. When we arrived the dining room was set up beautifully with flowers and homemade cookies that were just wonderful. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Katie was so responsive during the check in/out process and even gave us a lovely nearby coffee recommendation. I can’t wait for another chance to stay here again!

Great location

Our family loved this rental. We all had our own rooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is great for cooking and also the gas grill. The furnishings of the home were great and we all enjoyed the home. We visited the Barker Museum, the Outlet Mall, Sheridan Beach and we rode go carts. The weather was perfect. The host responds right away to your questions. Perfect weekend getaway.

You would be hard pressed to find a better host than Katie. She made every effort to make sure our stay was comfortable! A lovely home! Roomy, and a very nicely equipped kitchen for making your own meals. Close to everything! Something for everyone in your group

Fantastic location

The location of this rental is fantastic. You can walk to restaurants and the outlet mall. You can also enjoy the farmer’s market on a Saturday morning. The host was excellent and accommodating when we wanted check in early. We liked it so much we booked it for the following year before we left. Great value.

Wonderful Family Vacation

My family stayed at the Parsonage for our annual "Christmas in June" vacation. The home was clean and beautiful. We loved having bathrooms in every bedroom. Everything you would possibly need for cooking meals was available in the kitchen. The owners had even left plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dishwasher soap, Kleenex, baggies, aluminum foil, hand soap, etc. We were used to bringing all of these things and it was nice to not have to do so this time. The home is just a block from the outlet mall, a coffee shop, and an ice cream shop. It was just a little further to walk to the brewery. A quick drive had us to the beach and the casino. Katie was quick to answer any questions I had. She also left some delicious homemade cookies for us when we arrived. This was the perfect place for my family. We would definitely return if we come back to Michigan City for another vacation!

Amazing stay at the Parsonage

Our stay at the Parsonage was great. The house was so clean. Plenty of space for our group. The kitchen was fully equipped with everytbing we need to prepare large meals. The outlet mall is a short walk. There is a local coffee shop just steps away with the most delicious muffins and iced coffees. The beach is a 3 mins drive. We loved everything about this home from its charm right down to how convenient EVERYTHING the town has to offer is. We will defi itelt be back!

Perfect getaway

Really loved this place to stay. Great location (nearby coffee shops, downtown shopping, access to other nearby cities). Great house and perfect size for our family (5 of us). Communication with the property manager was timely and clear. Highly recommend if you are looking in the Michigan City/Lake Michigan area!

Birthday Celebration

The property was beautiful--plenty of room for the family. The location was perfect, close to the beach, shopping--and the arts district. We ate out and cooked great meals in--stove and grill. Loved Renew consignment shop. It was a wonderful way to spend time with my adult children and grandchild AND celebrating my birthday. The hosts were quick in responding anytime I reached out.

Girls Weekend

The historic house is quaint and comfortable. There is plenty of space to gather. The well equipped kitchen was great. Each bedroom having its own en suite bath is a plus. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Appears to be in a neighborhood that is improving and renovating.

The Perfect House

We absolutely loved our stay in Michigan City at the Parsonage! The set up of rooms was perfect for our family. It was so comfortable, clean, and in a perfect location! Katie, the owner, checked in with us throughout our stay and was always available if we had any questions. The Parsonage is a great spot!

Katie was excellent and communicative before and during our stay. Loved the location, which is walkable to the beach. Plenty of shopping if you like that; however the house was perfect for our family as everyone had their own room and bath.

All we can say about the Parsonage is Wow!!!

We chose this property initially due to the bedroom and bathroom count so everyone in our group would have their own bedroom and bathroom. An added draw was the convenient and walkable location to pretty much everything. Let me just say that the pictures DO NOT do this house justice!! Upon entering the house we were floored by just how beautiful the house was. Not only was the house itself beautiful, the furnishings and decor complemented this historical house perfectly. Unlike other rentals there wasn’t just a houseful of IKEA furniture just for the sake of filling up the house. The decor at the Parsonage has been carefully curated and placed in a thoughtful manner. Everywhere you looked there was something interesting to see. As a lover of historical homes this was an amazing treat! The bedrooms were well appointed. The beds were so comfy. The jetted tubs were great to come home to after a long day of exploring the area. The kitchen is a cooks dream. Any gadget, cookware, casserole dish that you could want, it’s there! The highlight of our mornings was coffee in the lovely sunroom. This is best rental I have stayed in hands down! Our family loved our stay at the Parsonage and can’t wait to return. *** The hosts were super responsive and accommodating. If we needed anything or had a question regarding the house they responded very quickly. For our trip to the beach the host let us know we could use the beach chairs and cooler that were there at the house.

We stayed here for a girls shopping weekend and had a great time. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Bathrooms in each bedroom was an added bonus. Communication with owner was good and check in/ check out was easy. Would stay here again!

BEAUTIFUL well appointed home!

Wow. Photos don't do this amazing home justice. It is immaculately clean, spacious, warm and comfy. The kitchen has everything so we cooked as a family. We brought our 2 yr old neice so the washing machine was handy. She loved the toys in the "game closet". The bedrooms upstairs were so comfortable. My 86 year old mother, who often has sleep issues, slept soundly. The bathrooms are fabulous with cool jetted tubs. We were only a block from the outlet mall and there is a cool coffee shop nearby. Although we didn't need to go there as the kitchen has a nice coffee maker. And I have to mention the historical beauty of this home. Beautiful woodwork and features. The porch!!! The inner was very responsive and kind. Thumbs up! 👍

Magical Destination

The Parsonage is everything we dreamed of and more! It felt like a home away from home, but with sooo many more perks. There is an outlet mall, coffee shops, and plenty of restaurants within just a couple of blocks. It will likely take you longer to pack up the car than it will to drive over and have your feet in the sand! After a long day, you can take a soak in one of the FOUR Jacuzzi tubs. Does it get any better than that?! Katie and Joe have thought of everything while prepping their space for you. I did not "want" for anything during our stay. We look forward to many more stay with them in the years to come.

I grew up in Michigan City and always admired The Parsonage from my school bus. My husband Joe and I have had a beach home in the area for 17 years now and we enjoy all the seasons in Michigan City with our entire family. Great beaches, shopping, casino, restaurants and all of Harbor Country close by. We met the Hoovers this past summer and were wowed by this property and saw this as an opportunity to own this very special property while involving ourselves in the exciting changes happening in Michigan City.
