About this property
Creative Family Home in Leyton E10 - with cat!
Our home is a terraced Victorian on a quiet residential street in Leyton with a gorgeous cat called Nora who will need feeding and playing with but is otherwise independent and who has a catflap.
Filled with vintage furniture, books, a big television, a food-lover's kitchen, toys and crafts for the kids and a grassy, lush garden to relax in, it is a very relaxed, cozy home in what was named one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the country in 2024.
We have a two and bedrooms - one main, one kids and a home office.
The main bedroom which has a lovely super king Casper mattress and is almost dangerously comfy, the kids have a solid oak bunk bed.
There's a nice garden, too, with grass which our cat likes pretending is a a Savannah and a decking you might enjoy relaxing on too! We grow fresh herbs which makes lovely teas and are great for cooking and by the time the place is available for rental, the tomatoes, blueberries and cucumbers will be ripe for picking (as long as you rmember to water them).
Our favourite room is the kitchen which which is great if you like to cook (brilliant oven, convection hob and huge kitchen island) and are into coffee and has floor-to-ceiling sliding doors looking out onto the garden which you can slide open and work from the kitchen table with the breeze on your face (or the rain sliding down the massive windows - we like both tbh).
We also have a really nice electronic piano with weighted keys which can be played out loud or with headphones on - and there's a decent library of novels, art books and more to get stuck into. We also have all the usual subscriptions to the main streamers and a nice big telly and sofa situation.
For the kids we have a good range of arts and crafts materials, games, a vast library and playstation. There's also an award-winning library nearby you'd be welcome to use our card for.
Our street is incredibly friendly and we moved to the area because there is so much greenery - there's Jubilee Park close by, then just past that the bird sanctuary and Hackney Wick and also the Wetlands. Just beyond that there's the ancient and legendary Epping Forest which comes very highly recommended.
In terms of local cafes etc there's Patchworks which does great coffee, Pinch la Delis and about 12 mins away is the much-famed Francis Road with it's lovely book shops and eateries and Saturday Kerb food market.
A short bus ride away is Stratford and Westfield and of course there's Walthamstow and Walthamstow Village nearby too.
If you like charity shops, you're spoilt for choice at Bakers Arms!
There's usually something going on and we are very well-connected to the Central Line, Victoria line and buses that go into town - the Elizabeth Line in Stratford is a game-changer.
We will be donating 15% of the money raised from this rental to aid work on the ground in Palestine and Sudan.
Our property will be managed will by Jess whilst we are away -- she used to be our children's nanny and is now a family friend and an excellent babysitter and highly-qualified childcare care giver who will be happy to look after your children of any age.
