About this property
Batchcott Hall – Historic Country Elegance in the Heart of Shropshire
Perched on the lower slopes of the Long Mynd and gazing out across the Shropshire plains, Batchcott Hall is a striking historic country house offering a truly idyllic retreat. With space to host up to 17 guests across 7 thoughtfully appointed bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, this is the perfect venue for group getaways, family reunions, or special celebrations. Enhance your stay with the services of an in-house chef—or hire one of our traditional wood-fired or gas pizza ovens for a night to remember!
The Space
Batchcott Hall combines timeless character with comfort and flexibility. Sleeping arrangements include five double bedrooms, a twin room, and a charming bunk room that accommodates five guests. While typically set up for 17, we're happy to discuss tailored arrangements based on your needs.
For guests with limited mobility, a ground floor double bedroom is available. Please note, however, that the only ground floor WC is located at the opposite end of the house and there is one small step to navigate.
Kitchen & Dining
At the heart of the home is a spacious, fully equipped kitchen featuring an Aga and a large kitchen table—perfect for preparing meals while taking in the garden views. The adjoining dining room, with its large table and welcoming log burner, makes every meal a communal occasion.
Living Spaces
The elegant living room is defined by a grand stone-framed bay window, framing panoramic countryside views that shift with the light. An open fireplace and flat screen TV offer cozy options for relaxation, whether you’re curling up with a book or gathering for movie night.
