About this property
Nordic Stone Bothy with Sauna · Anglesey
Summary:
A beautifully restored stone bothy for two, tucked away at Y Glyn and designed for simple, unhurried escapes. Curl up beside the crackle of the wood-burning fire, soak in the indoor freestanding bath, or enjoy a quiet morning in your private garden. For deeper relaxation, embrace the shared sauna and cold shower ritual, surrounded by nature. Thoughtfully pared back and full of character, this is a place to slow down, reconnect, and savour the beauty of doing less.
The Space:
The Space:
The Bothy sits a little apart from the main house at Y Glyn, on four acres of Anglesey countryside. Built for two, it is intimate and considered: a wood-burning fire at its heart, a freestanding bath to sink into, or a beautiful glazed sauna and cold shower to relax, a handcrafted earthenware kitchen, and an open, Nordic-simple living space that holds warmth and quiet in equal measure. The day asks little — coffee in the garden with the birds, a walk on the estate, a long bath, a supper over the barbecue as the light goes. The estate’s woodland sauna and cold shower are close when you want the contrast ritual. It is a place to linger and reconnect, with the coast, the cultural heart of the island and the mountains of Eryri all within easy reach.
Highlights:
- Timber-lined one-bedroom retreat with a double bed
- Bedroom featuring freestanding bath
- Stylish bathroom featuring a walk-in rainfall shower
- Nordic-inspired open-plan living space designed for comfort and relaxation
- Comfortable sofa positioned beside the fire
- Wood-burning Fireplace
- Smart TV
- High-speed Wi-Fi
- Fully equipped contemporary kitchen with high-end appliances
- Private outdoor dining area with fire pit and BBQ, ideal for alfresco meals
- Access to a shared sauna and refreshing cold shower
- Up to two dogs welcome (£25 per dog per stay)
- Private driveway parking for one vehicle
Guest Access:
The Bothy has one designated parking space. From the shared car park, a path leads up to the cabin.
Please note that the walk includes an incline and may not be suitable for guests with certain mobility or access requirements. That said, the elevated position rewards you with wonderful views from the top of the hill.
The Neighborhood:
Y Glyn sits at the cultural heart of Anglesey, just outside Llangefni, just outside Llangefni, just 5 minutes to the shops, 10 to Menai Bridge and its cafés and restaurants. The island is ringed by the Anglesey Coastal Path, and the walking is some of the finest in Britain: clifftop tracks, hidden coves and wide sands at every turn. Llanddwyn Beach and Newborough Forest, with their pine woods, dunes and island lighthouse, are about 20 minutes; Rhosneigr brings the surf and kitesurf; Red Wharf Bay its vast tidal sands and a waterside pub. Historic Beaumaris and its medieval castle are a short drive, and RIB trips run from the Menai Strait to Puffin Island for seals and seabirds. Across the bridge, Eryri (Snowdonia) opens up. Yr Wyddfa, glacial lakes and mountain paths. Bring an appetite for Anglesey’s seafood; the local lobster is quietly famous.
