The cottage was beautiful and we loved our week there. The setting was so quiet, peaceful and lovely. The location was ideal for our travel plans. It was so close to all the places we wanted to see. Almost anything we could have needed was there for us. The cottage was roomy, nicely decorated and furnished. The bed was comfortable and the heat worked well. The staff at Heimaleiga, the property managers, were incredibly patient and helpful with us meeting many challenges we faced, especially as Americans. For example, we needed to use a wire transfer instead of a credit card which can cause an additional expense.Other things to be aware of: There is a device like a phone on a window ledge which is used to open the gate on entry. The phone number to use is on the gate itself. When we were there, there was no house number on the arch in front of the path, It's just past #11. There is no freezer, just a tall, thin refrigerator which is otherwise quite adequate. The path leading up to the house did not have working lights so it would be good to bring a flashlight.
