Converted from a former public house, The Olde Smithy Apartments offer basic yet comfortable accommodation and make a great choice for those looking to explore the local area and the many surrounding attractions.

Each apartment includes everything needed for a short stay, and one, Apartment 3, is particularly unique, having once served as the pub’s function room. This apartment benefits from its own private entrance, an upstairs level, and a garden, ideal for those seeking fresh air and added privacy. Situated on a main road in an urban setting, the apartments have been thoughtfully designed with bedrooms to the rear for quieter nights. While there is no on-site parking, a public car park is located just a few hundred metres away.

Burslem is best known for its rich ceramic heritage, with its roots in the pottery industry still visible today. Independent shops, traditional pubs, and local restaurants are all within walking distance. Further afield, there’s plenty to keep visitors entertained. Alton Towers Resort is around a 35-minute drive and offers world-famous rollercoasters, family attractions, a water park, and a spa. Just 10 minutes away, WaterWorld is the UK’s largest indoor tropical water park, perfect for family fun in any weather. The beautiful Trentham Estate is just 15 minutes away, home to award-winning gardens, a shopping village, and the popular Monkey Forest, where over 140 free roaming Barbary macaques live in a natural woodland setting.

For lovers of the outdoors, the southern reaches of the Peak District National Park are just 30 to 40 minutes away, offering scenic walks, wildlife, and dramatic landscapes. Also within easy reach are the World of Wedgwood, the Emma Bridgewater Factory, Middleport Pottery, the Gladstone Pottery Museum, and the historic market town of Leek.

With so much to explore, The Olde Smithy Apartments provide a well-located and practical base for enjoying the very best of Staffordshire and The Potteries.

These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 24 guests.

Although the accommodation is spacious, the mattresses were very soft. In the kitchen and bathroom there is no extractor fans. Having said this the accommodation does benefit from ample light and scenic views as there are many windows in both rooms.
