Entering along a Cotswold stone driveway, you will spot a wildlife lake on the right surrounded by two acres of meadows. In front of you sits Gamekeeper's Lodge, clad in cedar wood to blend in with the 3 acre woodland that wraps around the house, built into the hillside so that both the upper floor and lower floor have access to the surrounding terraces and garden.
From the parking area in front of the garage, steps lead onto the covered balcony, with an outdoor dining and sofa area near the front door. Upon entering Gamekeeper's Lodge, you are welcomed into the airy, vaulted entrance hall with a chevron tiled floor, where there is a baby grand piano and a picture book window overlooking the back garden. To the left, the blue boot room has an oak seating bench and plenty of space for coats and shoes. The staircase leads down to the long hallway on the ground floor along with the four double bedrooms, with en-suites.
The house is defined by the open-plan entertaining space boasting vaulted ceilings and oak beams, with a well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, a dining table centrally positioned to enjoy the view over the lake. The comfortable sitting area enjoys a 3-sided log burner, which divides the space between dining and relaxing. There is also plenty of space for the games area with a pool table and retro gaming machine.
The snug offers another cosy space to relax, with a log burner, large leather sofas and armchairs, a bookcase filled with books on art, nature and children's classics. The large coffee table is perfect for playing games or doing a jigsaw from one of the two toy boxes in the room. With sliding doors to the balcony and a view over the woodland and lake, it is a great place to unwind with a book and enjoy nature.
The utility room has everything you need for your four-legged friends; a dog shower with storage above from dog towels, bowls and of course those much needed dog treats! There is a Belfast sink, and lots of cookery books on the oak shelves, along with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
The four double bedrooms are situated on the lower ground floor, and all have en-suite bathrooms and dressing rooms with views of the lake and surrounding countryside. There are two free-standing baths in bedroom one and bedroom four. All bedrooms have sliding doors which open out onto the front terrace, with sun loungers, outdoor sofas, armchairs, and coffee tables.
The open-plan living space enjoys double doors at the back, which open out onto a bridge over the ground floor light well, and lead you to the large entertaining terrace. Here, there is an outdoor dining table for eight guests, a sofa and armchair with a coffee table, and sun loungers. From terrace, guests can enjoy use of the outdoor cooking area, with both gas and charcoal barbecues, a pizza oven and a fire pit. The terrace is surrounded by flowers, and the lawned garden behind leads you onto the woodland paths where you can take a stroll and enjoy a picnic.
Heading further outside, you can enjoy a gentle walk through the grounds, along the woodland path, around the wildlife ponds, weaving in and out of the grass paths cut through the meadow. Deer will surprise you, and you can enjoy watching the ducks chase each other around on the pond.
