The space
If you are looking for a chilled out holiday then try our luxurious hot tub or put your feet up in front of the cosy log burner. Easy access to main roads M27/M3 & A36 means Southampton is only 20 minutes away, Winchester 25 minutes, Salisbury 25 minutes and the sandy beaches of Bournemouth and Sandbanks are only a 30-minute drive away.
Space
Rectory Cottage was built in the late 19th century as a residence for the vicar of the adjacent St Anne’s church. It has recently been through a complete renovation, tastefully designed to preserve the traditional Victorian features like the old fire places in every room and wide sweeping staircase, but with all the functionality and comfort of a modern property. There is off-road private parking for up to three cars . Adjoining the kitchen and with an open walk through is a bright sunny conservatory overlooking the garden. It has a large dinning space that seats up to 8 people great for relaxing with a cup of tea or enjoying a family dinner. The large Shaker style Kitchen has brand new appliances built-into the units including a washer/dryer, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. There is also a microwave, and Nespresso coffee machine. The Kitchen is also fully kitted out with utensils and cooking equipment.
Leading off the kitchen is a cosy lounge with a sumptuous corner sofa and a traditional log burner in the original fireplace. There is also a downstairs cloakroom with toilet & basin.
The second floor is accessed via a lovely wide staircase, typical of late 19th century, which leads to a small landing with the two bedrooms and bathroom off it. The master bedroom impresses with a stylish king size antique wrought-iron bed and a stunning original Victorian fireplace. There is a convenient large built-in wardrobe with ample hanging and draws for your clothes storage. All our bedding is a luxurious standard supplied by The White Company along with high quality shower gels and hand washes. The second bedroom has a sumptuous single bed that coverts neatly via a trundle bed to king size double. This neatly slides out from underneath and pops up on sprung legs. A small fireplace and built-in wardrobe complete a very cosy bedroom.
The bath and shower room might be smaller in size but more than makes up for it in style!
The Garden
The secluded back garden is enclosed with stylishly weaved wooden fencing and has a traditional stone paved area for sunbathing and catching the rays but the luxury jacuzzi hot tub takes centre stage. Heated for all-year-round use and a great way to unwind after a hard days play at Paultons Park! Perhaps with a glass of bubbly!.
The flower beds and neatly mown grass lawn add to the relaxed ambience. This is a peaceful and private space in which to unwind and not over looked.
Parking
There is plenty of off-road parking for three cars on the stone gravel driveway and a conveniently placed electric car charger
Security & safety
There is a Ring-door bell that is connected to the company alarm system and fire and smoke detectors throughout the house. However, guest diligence is the best form of fire prevention!
