About this property
Merchant Quarters, The Merchant House, Ipswich
A spacious 2nd floor suite with wonderfully wonky stairs (there’s a rope to steady you) and low ceilings is in a Grade II listed building called The Merchant House, part of the historic Isaacs on the Quay waterfront venue. Guests will benefit from a 20% discount on food and non-alcoholic beverages in the bustling bar, café, and restaurant, as well as use of a communal dining room and kitchen. Accommodation has two bedrooms with king sized beds, and a large bathroom off the long landing.
FRONT BEDROOM
A large room where the king size bed sits under the window at the front of the building so, as you may expect in the heart of town, there is some traffic noise. There’s a sofa and coffee and tea making facilities, plus a TV so you can relax at the end of the day, and ample storage with three chests of drawers.
BACK BEDROOM
Sitting quietly at the back of the house (although there may be a little noise from the bar below), this characterful room with its wonky floor and oak panelling has a king size bed between bedside drawers. There’s a chest of drawers, a dressing table with stool, a chair, wall mounted TV and coffee and tea making facilities.
BATHROOM
Step back in time into this beautiful big bathroom located off the landing between the bedrooms, where the ancient floors slope down to the bath and a couple of chairs sit beneath the window, plus two wash basins, a WC but no shower.
ISAACS RESTAURANT, THE COFFEE TAVERN, AND BRIARBANK BAR AND BREWERY
Your accommodation is in The Merchant House which is part of the Isaacs Waterside complex, a great place to stay with so many facilities literally on your doorstop and, better still, you’ll be entitled to a 20% discount on any food and non-alcoholic drinks during your stay. The entrance to the house is actually through Briarbank Bar so you can stop for a drink on the way through after a busy day! Please check the Isaacs website for opening times.
COMMUNAL KITCHEN AND DINING ROOM
You’re welcome to use this full equipped large communal kitchen which is fitted with a Kenwood double oven with five rings, a microwave, kettle, a fridge/freezer (two shelf freezer and 3 shelf fridge – remember that this is a communal area if you’re storing things), a washing machine, a dryer, an iron and ironing board. The kitchen will be cleaned regularly but you are expected to leave it as you find it.
DINING ROOM
Also a communal space where you’re welcome to enjoy meals at the dining table, whether take-away or home cooked.
PARKING
There are a number of pay and display car parks nearby, the closest being on Slade Street.
