Opened in July 2025. Nestled in the heart of picturesque Ophemert, at the end of the driveway, our Coach House awaits you, perfect for relaxing in a delightful green setting. When the weather is nice, you can relax in the spacious garden. We also have a wellness garden with a wood-fired sauna, jacuzzi, and outdoor shower. Rates include use of these facilities. Simply reserve the garden, and the facilities will be privately available.
The Coach House is fully equipped; the house was completely modernized in 2025. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, freezer, combination oven, and dishwasher. Everything you need for a delicious meal is provided. Groceries can be purchased at nearby supermarkets, as well as at the many farm shops in and around Ophemert. The bathroom features a spacious shower and sink, and of course, fluffy towels are provided.
The living room has a comfortable, spacious sofa, a dining area, and a cupboard full of games for when you don't feel like watching TV. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms. One with a double bed and one with two single beds that can be pushed together; the beds are made up for you.
Through the French doors, you reach the terrace, where you'll find comfortable seating, a hammock, and a picnic table. Inside, the cabin blends seamlessly into the outdoors. A fire pit and barbecue make it easy to cook outdoors or roast a marshmallow!
There are also many lovely restaurants in the immediate area if you don't feel like cooking. There are also plenty of lovely picnic spots.
The cottage itself is colorful, warm, and cozy. You'll feel at home the moment you step through the door, and the surroundings ensure you won't be bored for a second!
The area surrounding this nature house is perfect for cycling and walking. Several walks and bike rides are possible right from the front door. Stroll along the floodplains, through endless orchards, and through the unique nature of the Steendert, with the windmill as its central focal point. These are just a few of the opportunities within walking distance of the Koetshuis.
The charming towns of Tiel, Buren, and Zaltbommel are within easy (electric) cycling distance. But don't forget the beauty of the Linge River. Canoeing, boat rentals—it's all within easy reach. There are also several castles and estates to admire, such as Marienwaerdt in Beesd and the castles in Neerrijnen. There are also several beautiful Klompenpaden (Clog Paths) that lead you along the Dutch Waterline, allowing you to enjoy the many stunning landscapes and beautiful authentic farmhouses. There are also several swimming lakes in the area for warm weather.
In April, the Betuwe region is in full bloom, with beautiful blossoms everywhere. In June, you can buy cherries along the roadside, and in September, the apples and pears are ripe. You can also enjoy this in your garden. Pick a raspberry or strawberry in the spring, or gather walnuts in the fall. A field bouquet you pick yourself will quickly fill your vase.
Thanks to its central location in the Netherlands, major cities like Amsterdam, Utrecht, 's-Hertogenbosch, Arnhem, Nijmegen, and The Hague are all within an hour's drive.
You are very welcome to enjoy all the beauty of our Koetshuis and the magnificent Betuwe region.
