These delightful and recently refurbished attic is located in Portoscuso centre, in the heart of Sulcis Iglesiente: the seaside and beautiful beaches of the town, Portopaglietto and La Caletta, are at walking distance.

The apartment has a kitchen and a luminous living room with seaview terrace, one bathroom, two spacious double bedrooms that open onto a beautiful balcony, complete with table and chairs, parasol and barbeque.
All comforts are included. At the B&B is also available a free wi-fi connection and, on request, a complete breakfast under the grapevine porch.

For its strategic position, right in front of the islands of Sant’Antioco and San Pietro, Portoscuso is the perfect base to experience the charm of an untouched area of Southern Sardinia, still unknown to mass tourism. Sulcis Iglesiente is a region still ruled by powerful and savage nature, featuring wind-moulded beaches, high cliffs and a crystal-clear sea, and also important archaeological and mining sites: perfect for a relaxing holiday during all seasons.

Lovely place to stay

We stayed in one of the attic apartments in early October 2014. The apartment was exactly as shown in the photos – modern, light, airy, spacious and spotlessly clean. It was well-equipped for self-catering, with plenty of pans and utensils and even a toaster and microwave/grill. It was very hot while we were there, so we used the aircon in the bedroom at night – we’ve never before experienced such a blissfully quiet one. The two apartments are on the top floor of a building in the town, with a handy supermarket just around the corner. Although a little way away from the seafront, there’s a lovely view of the sea and out to the islands of Sant Antioco and Carloforte from one of the terraces. The owners also run the Sa Cruxitta B&B on the Portoscuso seafront and are extremely warm and generous hosts (see Tripadvisor reviews of the B&B for more on that). Prospective visitors should note that you have to visit the B&B for the wireless internet, but there is an ‘open door’ policy on that, and you’ll be met with a very warm welcome, refreshments and friendly chat. Also note that the apartment is on the second floor and there’s no lift, so it might be a problem for someone with limited mobility. We met Carmen, Annarella and Marco, all of whom fell over themselves to be hospitable and helpful. As our Italian is poor we communicated mostly with Marco who speaks excellent English. He was extremely helpful with suggestions for places to visit, etc., and sent us a couple of sheets of information by email before we arrived. We wholeheartedly recommend these apartments if you are looking for a base for exploring the South and West of Sardinia (a marvellously rich and varied area); Portoscuso is a nice, laid back, uncommercialised town. We also visited Cagliari from there – you can take the train from Carbonia and it’s free to park in the station car park; much easier than trying to drive into Cagliari.

Geräumige Ferienwohnung mit 2 Balkonen

Wir waren mit 4 Personen in der sehr geräumigen Ferienwohnung mit der roten Küche. Die Kommunikation mit der Eigentümerin Carmen (spricht nur italienisch) lief über Rita (spricht auch englisch), die jederzeit erreichbar war. Die Wohnung ist sehr gut ausgestattet, allerdings sind die Schränke im Wohnzimmer schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Betten waren super, die Balkone gut möbliert. Das Bad ist durch die Dachschräge für größere Personen etwas beengt. Ein Stern Abzug, da wir uns etwas mehr Sorgfalt bei der Reinigung gewünscht hätten. Vielleicht lag das aber auch daran, dass die Wohnung vor uns eine Zeitlang nicht vermietet war.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in Portoscuso. Die süße, kleine Dachwohnung mit den niedrigen Decken und dem hübschen Balkon zum Meer hin ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt um die Gegend zu erkunden.

schöne Wohnung in Portoscuso und sehr freundliche Vermieter

Wohnung ist prima und so, wie beschrieben. Portoscuso ist als Ausgangspunkt für viele Unternehmungen prima geeignet. Eine besonders schöne Überraschung war ein kostenloses Frühstück im B&B Sa Cruxiutta. Rita und Carmen waren sehr nette Gastgeber.

Abbiamo soggiornato nell'appartamento rosso per due settimane. L'appartamento è proprio come nelle foto. Molto ampio, ben arredato tenuto con molta cura dei particolari. La mattina facevamo la colazione sulla terrazza da dove si poteva vedere il mare. La sera non c'era neppure la necessità di accendere l'aria condizionata perchè bastava tenere aperte le finestre e si creava un'arietta fresca da fare invidia pure al condizionatore. Il plus di questo appartamento, senza ombra di dubbio, è il supporto della Sig.ra Carmen, bravissima e gentilissima. Un pozzo di consigli per luoghi da visitare, spiagge da non perdere e ristoranti. Con le ns. bimbe di 8 e 5 anni abbiamo girato tutta la provincia visitando le grotte di Su Mannau, il templio di Atas, le miniere a Rosas, l'isola di Sant'Antioco, il museo Epogeo, le spiagge di Chia...E' una zona che offre tantissime opportunità e nonostante fossimo in agosto non abbiamo mai trovato il caos tipico delle vacanze di massa. Una vacanza davvero meravigliosa!!! Grazie ancora Maela, Cristian, Beatrice e Camilla

schöne, ruhige Wohnung

Die ruhig gelegene Wohnung entspricht der Beschreibung und den Fotos.Es war alle sehr sauber und modern eingerichtet,so dass man sich vom ersten Augenblick wohlfült.Auf der Dachterrasse kann man herrliche Sonnenuntergänge erleben oder den Grill nutzen. In allen drei Räumen sind leistungsfähige und leise Klimaanlagen, die sicher auch immer Sommer für angenehmes Raumklima sorgen. Man sollte sich nicht durch das am Ortsrand befindliche Industriegebiet abschrecken lassen.Portoscuso ist ein idealer Ort, um den Südwesten der Insel zu erkunden. Zahlreiche wunderschöne Strände (im Oktober menschenleer) in der Nähe, aber auch nach Cagliari sind schnell erreicht. Nur wenige Meter entfernt ist ein kleiner Supermarkt, bei dem man alles für die Selbstversorgung bekommt. Wir haben zwei sehr erholsame Wochen hier verbracht und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

L'appartamento è sistemato molto bene, anzi x essere una casa vacanza è anche troppo, inoltre dispone di 2 comode terrazze e i confort come gli elettrodomestici non mancano in casa. Si trova in una zona molto tranquilla e silenziosa dove si può rimanere a finestre aperte x godere l'aria frizzante e refrigerante. Non ci si trova in un paese prettamente di villeggiatura, ma bensì in un centro vissuto da persone locali quindi con tutti i servizi, panifici, alimentari vari, mercato e altri negozi tutti a disposizione. I proprietari, in particolare la sig.ra Carmen riesce ad offrire a 360* il massimo dell'ospitalità, disponibilissima per ogni informazione e necessità. Il posto non è difficile da raggiungere dalla principali vie di comunicazione stradale. Grazie sincere per tutto. Simone, Federica, Matilde e Andrea.

Bel appartement certes, mais à déconseiller aux personnes de plus de 1,80m à cause de l'accès aux terrasses, au lavabo de la salle de douche et ... à la machine à laver. Les lits sont bons mais trop durs (notamment un) pour des poids inférieurs à 75 kgs. Attention, vous avez une vue imprenable sur les éoliennes et les cheminées de la zone industrielle voisine, sans les nuisances cependant. Si vos voisins sont bruyants, vous en profiterez car l'appartement est sonore. Le quartier est calme, vous avez un supermarché à bas coût en face très pratique (Dico). Excellent accueil, un petit déjeuner offert délicieux. La ville est bien placée pour explorer la région de Carbonia, Iglesias et la Costa Verde.
