About this property
Romantic Off-Grid Woodland Hideaway with Stunning Valley Views
Nestled high above Llangollen in the serene Dee Valley, Hydra is a peaceful off-grid cabin for two. Designed for restful escapes and starlit evenings. Surrounded by birdsong and forest hush, it’s the kind of place where nature takes the lead - wake up to the rustle of leaves, soak in scenic vistas from your private terrace and unwind with a board game or a good book on the plush king-sized bed.
Hydra offers easy access to some of North Wales' most iconic spots. You’re just minutes from historic trails like Castell Dinas Bran and the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Book a day with Bearded Man Adventures for kayaking, canyoning, archery or axe throwing. After exploring, settle in at one of the nearby pubs—Gales Wine Bar (the oldest in Wales) or the riverside Cornmill are local favourites. Hydra is fully pet friendly - allowing guests to bring as many dogs as they'd like with them.
Hydra is 1 hr from Liverpool, 1 hr 20 min from Manchester, 3 hr 30 min from London. The nearest station is Wrexham (approximately a 25-minute taxi journey). Free parking is available on-site with a short 100m walk to reach the cabin - tucked away just enough to feel wonderfully off-grid
Guests staying at Hydra can enjoy discounted access to Shack's Wild Sauna experience - guests will receive instructions for Wild Sauna bookings.
