About this property

New Key Largo Home in resort

Welcome to paradise in Key Largo! Our 3-story home was built in 2017 and is like new. We are about an hour and 15mins away from the Miami International Airport. It is located inside an up and coming resort named Calusa. There is a ramp for boat launching, a dock, a small tiki bar for entertainment, hammocks to watch the sunset go down, and many other activities. Our home is right next door to the community pool. There is also a basketball court, community party room and a kid's playground. Staying with us will definitely give you an authentic Keys experience.
Starting by hearing the birds chirping and the smell of salty water the second you step outside your balcony. The friendly ambiance and feeling the breeze as you approach the Cuban food truck located by the pool. Delicious food and great, happy people. While letting your food settle, you can take a drive in a golf cart (available for rent) and take in the ambiance. You can then take a dip in our large community pool and finish off your day by sitting in the hammocks and watching the sunset. This is the perfect spot to reunite and have family time, or a great place to bring a group of friends and have fun in the sun.
Our beautifully sea-themed home has many beds and rooms for large groups. On the first floor, we have an open floor where we have a rectangular table, perfect for a dinner for 8, a TV for entertainment. Going up the stairs to the second floor, you arrive to the living room which has a very comfy couch with a smart TV, perfect for a family Netflix night. Then we have the kitchen, equipped with all you need. Cups, plates, silverware, cooking pans, baking pans, oven mitts, coffee maker and toaster oven. Our kitchen/living room also has a small balcony to get a little bit of fresh air when needed.
Down the hallway we have our own laundry room, with a washer, dryer and ironing board. Then a small bathroom with shower, then we have two rooms, each equipped with two full sized beds, a smart TV and a closet. One of the rooms even have a small desk for a work space. Going up to the third floor, we have the master bedroom with a queen sized bed, the master bathroom and a beautiful wrap around master balcony. On the third floor, we also have a bathroom with a shower, a triple bunk bed room and our last bedroom. The triple bunk bed room (which is perfect for kids) has three single bunk beds, and two TVs. Perfect for gaming or watching movies. Then our last room is perfect for a couples room. It has a single full bed, a closet and a smart TV.
Right across the street from the resort, we have a plaza that includes Publix, Kmart, Liquor Store, and other stores. The whole house comes with WI-FI and all TV's are smart TV's, easy to watch Netflix, Hulu, HBO, etc.

PLEASE READ ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS PRIOR TO BOOKING
GUEST(S) INFORMATION:
Please be considerate of others and act in a safe manner at all times.
*YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CHILDREN AND VISITORS TO YOUR UNIT.
*THE RATE INCLUDES UP TO 6 PEOPLE AT SITE
*WILL BE CHARGED EXTRA FOR EXTRA GUESTS.
*FOR EVERY GUEST AFTER 6 GUESTS IT’S $50 DOLLARS PER EXTRA PERSON PER NIGHT STAYED.
PLEASE READ PRIOR TO BOOKING*Noise levels from all sources must be reasonable at all times. Please be courteous and refrain from loud activities that could affect other guests. Between 11 PM and 8 AM the noise should be kept at levels audible only to the occupants of your unit.
*Smoking is prohibited inside the unit at all times "NO EXCEPTIONS". You may smoke outside *Please do not dispose of butts on the ground - please use proper receptacles.
*Fireworks are prohibited by county and state law and are not permitted on resort property. If fireworks of any kind are found on resort property, management and security has the authority to confiscate them.
*Any violation of the rules may cause eviction of the renter and/or all occupants of the site, and you credit card will charged.
*Check-In: 4:00PM *Check-out 10:00AM.
-If you wish for a late check-out please confirm availability. The cost for late check-out is: $30.00 per extra hour. After 5 pm is an extra day.
-One (1) vehicle included per reservation.
For extra vehicles, additional parking is paid directly to the resort.

VEHICLES/GOLF CARTS:
Motor vehicles to be used on site should be street legal with the exception of golf carts are allowed.
*No gas-powered golf carts will be allowed to enter the campground.
*All golf cart operators must be at least 17 years old and have a valid Driver's License at all times.
*Keys must be removed when golf cart is not in use.
*Reckless operation of any vehicle may cause eviction of the driver and/or all occupants of the site.
*Guests are solely responsible for the safe operation of any vehicle(s) operated by guest(s) and/or visitors while on premises.
-Renters vessels and trailers are not allowed in common areas during summer month period from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
-Renters, with the exception of those renting water front lots (bay/canal front) are prohibited from using the common area docks.
-If the vessel is larger than 25’ Vessel will not be allowed in the Park.
-Renters can only bring one water vessel with the register trailer.
-No double-docking of vessels on area canals adjacent to common area or waterways or marina is permitted at any time.
-No vessel shall be moored in any manner blocking free entrance, exit, or use of any waterway within or on the perimeter of the park.
-Curfew - Curfew shall be observed between the hours of 11:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. for all person's age 17 and under who may not be in Common Areas during this time, unless accompanied by parent or adult age 21 or older.

VESSEL AND WATERCRAFTS:
At this time, we are not accepting vessels or watercrafts as the resort does not rent out slips.
John Pennekamp offers overnight boat slips.
*POOL RULES: Located at Site.

*CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY:
No Show: No refund will be granted.

*Early Departure:
If a stay is shorter than the original reservation and less than one month no refund will be given.
If a stay is one month or longer the rate will be adjusted to the appropriate rate type (I.e. daily, weekly, etc.)
*Change of Dates:
Change of reservation dates are subject to availability. If dates requested are not available cancellation policies apply.
Refunds due to a death or extended hospitalization will be reviewed on an individual basis, proof must be provided in order for to issue the refund.
CANCELATION POLICY IS STRICT.

VISITORS:
*All visitors must register with Security prior to going to your unit.
*Security Officer will issue a day pass for your Vehicle.
*Car Pass *If renter has more than one (1) car, visitor(s) must pay guest parking directly through the resort.

QUIET HOURS AND NUISANCE:
*Quiet hours must be observed by all Owners, guests and renters.
*Quiet hours are as posted by the Association from time to time.
*Excessively loud music may be considered a nuisance if it unreasonably prohibits the enjoyment of Calusa by other Owners or renters. This also applies to the pool area and common dock area and all of the noise and nuisance requirements apply to all parts of the Common Areas of Calusa.
*Owners are responsible for notifying their guests that they all must park at the entrance of the campground, and not inside.
*Curfew - Curfew shall be observed between the hours of 11:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. for all person's age 17 and under who may not be in Common Areas during this time, unless accompanied by parent or adult age 21 or older.


*FAILURE TO FOLLOW AND COMPLY WITH THE GUEST/RESORT RULES WILL RESULT IN THE KEEPING OF YOUR DAMAGE DEPOSIT.*

Wedding Trip
8 of us in town for a wedding and we had a great time at this property. The listing was accurate and we had everything we needed. The house is within a gated campground with a mix of houses, modular homes, and buses. The campground is clean and safe. The house is right next to the community pool. The food truck and water views are a one minute walk. The host was very responsive to questions. Would book again.

Two families came together with room for 8 to coexist. The sunsets were incredible - manatees in the water - amazing pool w/fun top deck where we could see our kids fishing on one side & swimming on the other. Would stay at campground again but not here. Rating -When we arrived -the hot water & lower level lights didn't work. So at 752pm New Years Eve I texted the manager. We figured late that night that showers after traveling all day wouldn't be happening & went to bed. Fine...it was New Year's eve...we understood. At 11:48 am (after multiple texts, calls & messages on vrbo in the 16 hours) I received a call. The call started with asking for my husband because "women don't usually want to mess with breakers" I assured him I could do it & calmly proceeded. After being told he was out of town - I was asked to climb up behind the washer/dryer/cabinet set to check on the tankless water heater. In the process of doing this - I merely told him how FRUSTRATED I was to be paying a lot for a house with no hot water & not getting a call/text back quicker. He then says in a very MEAN strict tone "if you are going to be verbally abusive - I WILL hang up on you" So I proceeded to be obedient so nothing else escalated. An apology is all I needed!! "I'm so sorry we didn't get to you sooner."NONE til a basic one later on vrbo. Completely unacceptable. Never a call back- (things got fixed) just Horrible customer service to a guest who was just upset & NEVER rude.Hire new help great house

Key Largo in December
Nice lodging. Good for large groups. Comfortable and good separation for kids/parents. Roger was welcoming and explained how they are set up. The single on-demand hot water heater was not adequate for our group size. Kitchen place settings only set up for 8 or less (e.g. only 5 coffee cups, silverware, etc..) Make sure you get paper products (toilet paper, towels, etc.) and dish washer tablets on Day 1 or bring with you! Same with any spices, etc.
