About this property
The Cosy Hide - a romantic, rural retreat
The Cosy Hide is a caravan but with a big difference! It is set on a 10-acre plot inside a barn, with the most spectacular countryside and sunset views. It comes with an ‘inside/outside’ area which is big enough for dining and relaxing in. It also has a large outside space complete with fire pit/grill, sink, furniture and egg chair. It is perfect for a romantic getaway for 2 people. You are welcome to bring a small furry friend with you (with prior agreement) to share your stay and enjoy the peace and tranquillity on offer. It really is 'one of a kind' .
The accommodation is perfectly positioned for exploring the many delights of Cambridge, as well as the nearby historic city of Ely. Ely boasts a bustling market and a wide selection of restaurants and lively bars, all within convenient distance.
The Milton Road park and ride bus service into central Cambridge is just over 6 miles away. You can leave your car here for free and just pay £4 return per adult for the bus journey.
The beautiful Great River Ouse is just under a mile away and can be reached by a leisurely walk through scenic countryside. Here, guests can enjoy fishing, a picnic or embark on a variety of lovely country walks, immersing themselves in the natural beauty of the area.
Cottenham village centre is 1.7 miles, or just a 5-minute drive from the cottage. The village offers a range of facilities, including traditional pubs, coffee shops, convenience stores, a chemist, hairdressers, a charming fish and chip shop, and a delicious Indian restaurant, amongst other amenities.
There are currently four resident horses in the stables and part of the field. Guests are able to greet these friendly animals and can even offer them a carrot! The grounds provide opportunities to spot local wildlife, such as hares, deer, badgers, and red kites gracefully circling overhead.
The 10-acre plot also hosts The Cambridgeshire Cosy Cottage accommodation, which is suitable for four people and can be booked separately for additional guests. A further holiday let – The Orchards Nook Treehouse – is currently being built and will shortly also be available to book. Enquiries are welcome for those interested in sharing the property with more friends or family.
