High Rylands is a handsome traditional farmhouse, full of character and charm, nestled in the heart of Arncliffe, on the village green in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Sleeping up to fourteen guests across five bedrooms, it’s ideal for families and groups of friends seeking a peaceful Dales retreat.
The property retains original features including stone-flagged floors and an open fireplace, complemented by oil central heating throughout for year-round comfort. The spacious living room offers ample seating, an open fire and a smart TV, with a sofa bed available for flexible use. The well-equipped kitchen/dining room includes a plethora of modern appliances and plenty of space for shared meals. A utility/drying room provides a stainless-steel sink, extra fridge/freezer, washing machine, dryer and traditional drying creel. There is a ground-floor shower room, two further bathrooms, and an en-suite to the master bedroom, which has a double bed and a single pull-out bed that can be added to any single to create a double, or used in any room for flexibility. Bedrooms are spacious, with some featuring decorative fireplaces only. The games room includes a pool table, table tennis, Nintendo GameCube and board games, perfect for relaxed evenings after a day exploring the Dales. Outside, an enclosed rear garden offers lovely views, garden furniture, BBQ facilities and parking via a side gate.
Arncliffe is a quintessential Yorkshire Dales village, known for its stone cottages, tranquillity and stunning scenery. The Falcon Inn, directly opposite the house, serves traditional food and ale and was the original Woolpack pub in Emmerdale. The village and surrounding area also appear in Channel 5’s All Creatures Great and Small, adding to its authentic charm. Arncliffe is a haven for walkers and cyclists, with scenic routes leading to Gordale Scar, Malham Cove and beyond.
Nearby Litton offers a welcoming pub with food, while Threshfield, Grassington, and Kettlewell provide shops, cafés and local produce, guests especially appreciate the well-stocked Threshfield Garage shop.
