10 Stars
I wish I could give this home a 10 star review! The location especially deserves 10 stars. Walking distance to down town. We brought our bikes and rode through all the turn of the century neighborhoods and loved the houses. This house has been very tastefully updated and the vintage charm has been retained! Beautiful coffered ceilings and custom touches, yet very modern and easy to live in. The back yard is awesome, and my favorite touch was the balcony off the master bedroom. Karen was easy to get in touch with and everything went perfect! I will be back.

Charming historic cottage near downtown Napa!
We stayed at this lovely home for two months in spring and absolutely enjoyed it! I needed a place near my elderly parents for a few months, and this home was a wonderful respite and fun diversion in the midst of some serious healthcare issues for my family. The property has everything we needed for a long stay, and the surrounding patio/ front and back yard and park across the way was such a peaceful place to walk, hear the birds, and see and smell the beautiful flowers! When I didn't feel like cooking on some days, we walked downtown for a nice dinner. The house has beautiful morning and afternoon light, and has a beautiful spirit and charm about it! Karen was a wonderful host, and we hope to stay again!

Lovely Little House
I stayed at this property for three months. The location is awesome. Having the park across the street and the backyard was just perfect for me and my dog, Leo. The house is very comfortable. The owner was responsive and I had everything I needed for a great stay. I wish I had known about the stairs --as I had recent knee surgery. It was good for me, but wish I had known ahead of time!

About the host

Host profile image
I work in healthcare and have been enjoying Napa for for most of my life. I have had extended family in Napa since 1970's and finally bought a place 8 years ago to be closer to them. I live 2 hours away and have family close to the house if you need anything. I am pleased to host a family who needs a short term furnished rental while their home is being renovated or while working in the community on assignment, or just wanting a an extended vacation. Everything you need to feel safe and comfortable are in the home.

Why they chose this property

It feels like home and provides peace and ease. Cozy furniture in living room. People tell us our home is really nice, yet "comfortable". Sit on the back deck with a glass of wine and enjoy. Easy across the street access to large park for walking, running or exercising dog. Large rustic gravel backyard with outdoor furniture in the summer months. BBQ year round outdoors. Lots of activities in town year round including Summer concerts at Oxbow, Bottlerock, Porch Fest, Christmas Parade, Truffle Festival, Mustard Festival, July 4th activities and more. Walk to a plethora of wonderful restaurants, great shopping and wine bars.

What makes this property unique

It's a 100 year old home but has some newer conveniences. Leave the car behind and walk everywhere. Walking distance to downtown restaurants, wine shops and Oxbow Public Market. If you must, it's an easy drive up 29 or Silverado Trail to the fabulous town of Yountville and Thomas Keller. Also there is a bike trail that makes the same trip up valley starting downtown. Wonderful miles of riding all accessible from house.
St. Helena and Calistoga are the best towns for great spas although downtown Napa has spas too!. Easy commute to Queen of the Valley or the wineries and restaurants.
