The Garden: The entire property is enclosed and the extensive gardens are beautifully planted in the English manor-house style. The property is gated to ensure total privacy at all times yet within a few minutes drive of easy transport links to London: The London underground station (Chesham: Metropolitan Line) is only a five minute drive away, and the mainline train from Berkhamsted is just ten minutes away, providing a service to London Euston in just thirty minutes! Closer home to home, there are shops, takeaways and a post office within a few minutes walk.The Accommodation: Downstairs: The double front door opens into the main front hall, the centre of this ancient old farmhouse. Glorious reception rooms lead off in each direction. First, a private, luxurious Drawing Room where three sofas allow views of the garden through a curved Georgian bow window and surround an open fire with a marble mantlepiece and piles of fascinating books with which to while away afternoons in front of the fire. Next is another living room, also with an open fire and a large television with various streaming services, a giant family sofa and board games. A private study, boot room and laundry room then lead to a wonderfully designed, family-sized kitchen with a table to seat sixteen people, French doors out to the south-facing garden, a huge island with bar stools and a dual zone wine fridge, two full Bora high specification, self-cleaning ovens, a hob and downdraft extractor, a warming drawer, a Quooker tap with boiling, filtered cold, filtered sparkling, hot and cold water, a coffee and breakfast station also with a boiling tap. The elegant staircase leads upstairs to the Principal Bedroom Suite: A grand bedroom and bathroom suite featuring a private shower room AND a private bathroom and dressing room, a rare amenity ensuring unmatched privacy.There are four other bedrooms all with king size or super king size beds, fitted wardrobes and two are fitted with basin vanities. Three of these share a bathroom with bath, shower and vanity and the main guest bedroom suite includes its own large bathroom with a luxurious shower and bath. All of the bedrooms have king size bed, apart from the guest suite which has a larger super king size bed and the principal bedroom which boasts an emperor size ( two metre) bed!
