About this property
2 Bed in Gayle (oc-ds670)
Located in the sweet village of Gayle in the Yorkshire Dales, this charming holiday cottage is a wonderful retreat with excellent access to stunning walking trails. You’ll have a pub and shop conveniently located within 0.5 miles, and more options for eating and shopping 1 mile away in Hawes. The property has space for five guests over its two bedrooms, so is perfectly suited for a family or holiday among close friends. With its rustic ambience and lovely river views, it’s a wonderful spot for some rest and relaxation in a beautiful setting.
You’ll enter into a hallway which is handy for leaving coats and walking boots before stepping into the cosy lounge/diner. This is a beautiful space with wooden ceiling beams, comfy seating and excellent views from the two windows. An original Yorkshire range adds to the farmhouse atmosphere and includes a glowing open fire you can spark up on chilly days. In the well-equipped kitchen, cook up yummy creations using fresh local produce and in warm weather, make yourself a strong brew to take outside. The cobblestone patio at the front of the house, furnished with a garden bench, creates an idyllic spot to unwind in your peaceful surroundings.
When it’s time to get out and explore, the market town of Hawes offers plenty to the curious visitor, with its independent shops, cafés and countryside museum. Nature lovers will be completely spoilt, with rivers, valleys, hills and streams right on your doorstep. You’ll have the choice of three scenic waterfalls to visit within a 3-mile radius – Hardraw Force, Cotter Force, and Aysgill Force – and, for longer treks, the renowned Pennine Way passes through Hawes, 1 mile away.
