About this property

2 Bed in Whitby (oc-w725a)

This fabulous holiday home for four offers a coastal bolthole for couples and families looking to explore the delights of Whitby. The cottage boasts a central location, providing easy access to the town’s bars, pubs, and restaurants, and the main beach is just 300 metres away. Keen walkers can join The Cleveland Way, which passes through the town, or you can set off on two wheels along the traffic-free Cinder Track.

The 18th-century cottage is arranged across four floors and is full of period charm, with exposed beams, sash windows, and quirky furniture to complement the style of the property. On the ground floor is a delightful kitchen/diner, with everything needed for a self-catering holiday. You’ll also find a handy shower room on this level. Upstairs, the cosy lounge has an air of gothic elegance, and is a lovely spot to snuggle up and watch TV in the glow of the flame-effect electric fire. Heading up another level, discover a beach-themed twin bedroom with views across the harbour and to the abbey. At the top of the house, set under the sloping roof, is an inviting double bedroom with far-reaching views towards the abbey, harbour and sea. There is no outside space with this property, but with the beach just 300 metres away, it’s easy to enjoy a morning stroll along the sand.

Whitby’s West Cliff Beach has a long stretch of golden sand, backed by colourful beach huts. Spend your days building sandcastles, splashing in the sea, and sampling delicious, fresh seafood from one of the many eateries. History enthusiasts will enjoy a trip to Whitby Museum or the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, or you can hop on the steam train of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway to journey through the unspoilt landscapes of the North York Moors National Park.

Lovely property in the heart of Whitby

This place is perfect for a stay in Whitby, with lovely views from the bedrooms across the harbour. It is comfortable and nicely furnished and unusually for a rental property, the kitchen is well stocked.

Clean,compact, history surrounding you

Ideal location, surprisingly quiet at night. Great for couples, families with older kids. Very clean, comfortable, well equipped. Loved the unusual layout over 3 floors. Walking distance to everywhere. We were there during Whitby Goth Weekend and it was fantastic!!. Highly recommend the company for ease of booking and value.

6/10 Okay

Lovely cottage but way too noisy.

The cottage was lovely, very clean and well equipped with everything you needed for a weeks holiday. We were told it could be noisy during the summer time which we were fine with but we didn't except the noise to be at 6.30 am every morning too by beer barrels being rolled around outside the cottage and left there 20 in total one morning plus empty bottles being collected. Late evenings outside the cottage seemed to be a taxi rank going on plus people were using outside the cottage as a toilet and you could really smell this in the mornings and condoms were left on the pathway leading up to the top which was discusting. The staff at the fish shop and the tattoo place used outside the cottage as a smoking area.
