About this property

1 Bed in Barsham (oc-t32506)

This sweet rural hideaway combines the airy appeal of camping with the bonus of all mod cons. Perfect for a couple or a young family, the retreat is set in the little village of Barsham, on the edge of the scenic Broads National Park. A must-see is Barsham’s historic, Grade I-listed church with a round tower and beautiful stained glass. The charming Georgian market town of Beccles on the River Waveney is just 3 miles away, with independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Take a river cruise along the lovely Waveney Valley, where you may spot otters and kingfishers, hire a canoe or kayak or enjoy a peaceful walk along the banks. The coast is 10 miles distant, with golden beaches in charming Southwold (16 miles) and Lowestoft (12 miles).

The traditional, bespoke shepherd’s hut sits in a tranquil location among trees at the edge of a glamping site on a working farm. Climb three steps to the light and spacious, open-plan interior, which features soft tones and charming accents. Ahead is the stylish kitchen, kitted with all you might need to rustle up meals. A stylish, pull-down dining table has two chairs and is right by the window, with an extra pair of chairs available if needed. The sumptuous double bed, with a wool duvet, has an ingenious design that will delight younger children. This slots two small beds into the space above the double and is suitable for little ones who are less than 110cm tall. At the other end of the hut is a lovely shower room with a heated towel rail and WC.

Outside, the private garden area has a table and chairs, plus a BBQ, perfect for enjoying outdoor meals, with the fire pit to keep you warm and cosy. There is parking for one car next to the hut.
