Location of the property is stunning. So quiet and peaceful. Waking up to seeing hay bales and grouses was delightful. Owner is very helpful and corporative. Hilda and Frank were so lovely, very friendly and welcoming. We loved walking along the foot paths in the area. Highly recommend to anyone.

Rubbleside Cottage is a real home-from-home cottage. Very cosy, friendly hosts, lovely location.

So good, would like to return another time. My sister (visiting from 🇦🇺) and I were very comfortable. The location is ideal for visiting Suffolk's many places of interest.

Lovely stay near Minsmere

Really nice experience in booking and pre- information. The cottage is annexed to a main farm house and sits in the grounds of an old farm. It's really secluded and beautiful place to stay. It's really close to RSPB Minsmere where we spent much of our 3 day stay and close to Southwold which is a well worth spending time. The cottage is very clean, spacious and good amenities, I would highly recommend

Hidden gem in Suffolk countryside

Rubblestone cottage is in a perfect location. In the picturesque ountryside of Suffolk yet close to several small beaches. The cottage itself is immaculately clean, with a well appointed kitchen, comfortable beds, welcoming hostess. Would not hesitate to rent again or recommend to friends and family.

Perfect cottage in a perfect county :-)

The directions were easy to follow and the situation was wonderful: fantastic views, close to facilities but it felt like we were miles from anywhere. The cottage is just lovely, so peaceful and relaxing. Extremely comfortable and with a great welcome. Wonderful places to visit: Snape, Aldeburgh, Leiston Abbey, Dunwich Heath, Thorpeness to name but a few. Within an hour we were already planning our next visit!

The Rural Idyll

A lovely place - the sort of house and garden you might see on Springwatch. Rubblestone Cottage adjoins the main farmhouse, and is a completely self-contained place with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, lounge and kitchen. Spotlessly clean, well appointed kitchen with everything you need for a stay - and a really nice welcome from Caroline, with fresh milk in fridge and biscuits on the table when we arrived. The house is only 10 minutes drive from Saxmundham, but feels like a world away - all you can hear is birds, insects and now and again a very distant train. Amazing to sit on the front patio, overlooking hay meadows, listening to grasshoppers and watching green woodpeckers and other wildlife in the garden. Perfectly placed for Dunwich, RSPB Minsmere, Southwold, Aldburgh and Walberswick. Definitely somewhere we'd like to visit again. Thanks for a great stay Caroline!

Getting away from it all . . . .

The property was perfect for our needs and set in beautiful surroundings with not a streetlight or siren around - no pollution of any kind. The sun shone on the patio every morning even on duller and windy days! The local town, a short drive away, had everything we wanted including a railway station. Lots of pretty villages in the surrounding area and everyone was very friendly.

Relaxing and fun stay in Suffolk

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rubblestone Cottage with our 2 boys age 4 and 7. The cottage was cosy and comfortable and bigger than the photos show with plenty of outdoor space. The beds are comfy, lots of storage space, it's spotlessly clean, kitchen has everything you need. We enjoyed the cosy living room with smart TV at the end of our days adventuring to the local beaches. Wi-Fi is great too We enjoyed our chats with Mr and Mrs Rowe as well who were very good to listen to our boys talk endlessly about football! Thank you and we'll be back next year.

lovely stay at Rubblestone Cottage

After receiving very detailed directions we found the cottage with no trouble and were welcomed as we drove in by Hilda. The cottage was well equipped and lovely touches of milk, biscuits, coffee and tea which was really nice. we would have liked to have stayed longer but will definitly try and book again another time. It is really well placed to go either to Felixstowe or Lowestoft with all the nice places in between. Very peaceful and comfortable. Excellent accommodation. The stairs are very steep and the only toilet is downstairs but we were fine and my 88 year old mum managed and felt it was a lovely homely place to stay.

Property is in an excellent quiet location. It's location means it is easy to get to various Suffolk beaches. The property has everything that you would require for your stay. It is very clean, roomy and has good cooking facilities.. Our host was very good at communicating with us and gave us plenty of ideas of places to visit.

Six nights at Rubblestone Cottage

The cottage is very clean, tidy and cosy, it was perfect for our needs. The garden is beautiful and I loved an early morning coffee outside with the moorhens. Our host, Caroline was friendly and very helpful, her parents at the main house were great too! I would definitely recommend staying here, the peace and quiet is wonderful, I'd hope to visit again.

A delightful return to East Suffolk

Hi, my name is Caroline, I took over the running of Rubbblestone Cottage in 2015, prior to this my husbands parents had been running the cottage for over 20 years. They still live in the main house and have been living at the farm for 84 (frank) and 55 (Hilda) years. We look forward to welcoming guests old and new every year.

Why they chose this property

Many customers can not believe how quiet it is at the cottage and many have booked numerous return visits. One couple have been coming every year for over 20 years.
