About this property
2 Bed in Weybread (oc-tclwey)
A rural smallholding in the picturesque Waveney valley is the setting for this charming country hideaway. The former cart loft has been painstakingly converted into a luxurious, single-storey holiday home. Sleeping four guests, plus one canine companion, it is ideal for a family or two couples sharing. The property is located in a quiet hamlet, close to tranquil walks along the river Waveney, and country lanes—ideal for keen cyclists. There are two historic market towns within easy reach: Harleston, 2.5 miles away, and Diss (8 miles), over the border into Norfolk.
The interior of this bright and spacious conversion is beautifully furnished in contemporary, style with a palette of pale grey, white and wood. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has an L-shaped sofa, with French doors opening to the garden. There is a compact dining area and streamlined kitchen, along with a sleek shower room, while the two sumptuous bedrooms comprise a king-size and a double. Outside, guests are welcome to use the owners’ large garden, a patio with outdoor furniture and BBQ; also, to meet the resident alpacas and horses in their paddock.
Harleson’s thriving weekly market, first established in 1259, is a great place to shop for fresh local produce and this attractive town has an array of individual specialist shops. Eat out in historic coaching inns or cosy tearooms, explore the fascinating local museum and admire fine Georgian houses around the marketplace. The Corn Hall in Diss is a vibrant arts centre, with year-round exhibitions, and the town is known for its antique markets, as well as a wealth of fine, timber-framed buildings. Visit Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens (10.5 miles) for a fun day out, with rides on narrow gauge passenger trains and steam engines of all descriptions on display.
