About this property

1 Bed in Crayke (oc-g33754)

Located within the owner's tranquil grounds, this beautifully updated barn conversion has been imaginatively transformed to make a delightful holiday home for couples planning North Yorkshire adventures together. Ideally situated for discovering the Howardian Hills National Landscape, the property sits just outside Crayke, a historic village with a 15th-century castle and traditional pub. This is a fantastic area for walkers, dogs, cyclists and nature spotters, with the ancient woodlands of Yearsley Woods to the north-east (5.5 miles). The North York Moors are within easy reach (10 miles), or you can head south to the vibrant city of York (14 miles), home to a range of fabulous restaurants, friendly pubs and boutique shops – with major attractions and historic sites including the Castle Museum, The Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre, and York Minster. Also nearby are Rievaulx Abbey, Helmsley Walled Garden, Castle Howard, the Yorkshire Arboretum and The Georgian market town of Easingwold (all within 16 miles).

Situated within an enclosed private garden, a step leads up and into this cosy property. After leaving boots and coats in the inviting entrance hall, head through to the heart of the house: the delightful lounge/diner. With a roaring wood burner, a tasteful array of furnishings, and original wooden beams set in the vaulted ceiling, the fresh and spacious lounge makes a lovely spot for you both to snuggle up in front of the Smart TV. Over to one side, the dining table is perfect for enjoying a romantic meal for two. Heading along the hallway, the charming kitchen is fully equipped with a range of appliances, a breakfast table and chairs, and plenty of storage and workspace. Exploring this stylishly former barn further, you will find a handy utility room and a useful study where you can catch up with some work if necessary. A step leads up and into the richly decorated bedroom with a lovely king-size bed and low timber-beamed ceiling. The accommodation also features both an invigorating shower room and a soothing bathroom.

Stepping outside, the relaxing garden has a pergola, a picnic table and a BBQ, providing a delightful spot for dining alfresco together after a fantastic day exploring this memorable part of North Yorkshire. Off-street parking is available for one car. There is also lockable storage for bikes.
