About this property
3 Bed in Waberthwaite (oc-n34154)
Escape the hustle and bustle of daily life at this gorgeous cottage in Waberthwaite. Sleeping six people across three bedrooms, it’s perfect for families or groups of friends seeking a tranquil retreat to call home while they explore the Lake District together. Spend a beautiful few hours riding the historic Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway (1.5 miles) through lovely Lake District landscapes, or make a beeline to Haverigg (5 miles) to stroll along its sandy shoreline and waterfront trails. Alternatively, head to Eskdale (6 miles) to immerse yourself in rugged countryside and sweeping fell scenery as you follow the walking trails along the River Esk to Stanley Ghyll Force and the Roman fort at Hardknott.
Step inside this traditional cottage and make your way to the delightful lounge. Featuring cosy country-style decor that’s complemented by a wood burner, you can’t help but feel at home. When it’s time to eat, head to the traditional open-plan kitchen/diner to whip up some dinner. Get everyone together to eat around the wooden dining table in the dining area, which is bathed in natural light from the glass patio doors. Afterwards, challenge your loved ones to a friendly board game in the lounge, or treat yourself to a glass of something cool and crisp by the crackling wood burner. At the end of the day, head upstairs and you’ll find three lovingly decorated bedrooms – one spacious king-size, one handy twin, and one cheerful bunk bedroom that’s perfect if you have kids with you. Completing the layout is a smart family bathroom.
Step outside into the garden patio and share a casual al fresco dinner while taking in the uninterrupted views of green fields and rolling hills.
