About this property
2 Bed in Pathhead (oc-b29964)
A delightful cottage, located in the heart of the pretty village of Pathhead, next to the village hall that hosts a variety of activities and events, and close to beautiful countryside walks. Pathhead is known for its picturesque scenery and offers great local amenities including friendly inns, restaurants, artist studios and shops. It is nestled amid rolling hills surrounded by natural beauty, with an array of walking and biking trails on your doorstep. The elegant, bustling city of Edinburgh is only 10 miles away, with fantastic attractions and world-renowned festivals that include the Fringe, Tattoo and Christmas Markets. Visit Crichton Castle and Vogrie Country Park (2 miles) or take a tour around Glenkinchie Whisky Distillery and perhaps enjoy a wee dram (5 miles) or visit Hillend, the second longest dry ski slope in Europe (11 miles), where you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding and tubing.
Step inside this charming single-storey, stone-built period cottage into the vestibule, the perfect space to store your outdoor clothing. Continue into the hall and through to the light and bright lounge where you can relax on the comfortable sofas after a day out exploring. A piano provides entertainment for musical guests, and on cooler evenings, enjoy cosy nights in front of the roaring wood burner. Next is the well-equipped kitchen, perfect for cooking up storm, with a dining area to enjoy romantic or family gatherings. There is a convenient WC and leading through the hallway there is a twin bedroom and a double bedroom. Finally, completing the accommodation is the bathroom with a bath, large, separate walk-in shower cubical and WC.
Step outside with direct access from the rear hall and at the side of the building to the large, enclosed, mature garden with table and chairs for al fresco dining or lazy evening stargazing. There is also a summer house with seating; the ideal spot to relax and enjoy the views over the garden and surrounding countryside, perhaps with a great book. There is on-street parking (subject to availability).
