Great chalet, well equipped and clean. Seamless check in and check out process.Quiet location with easy access to town and hiking trails. The bears are real. Follow instructions and lock car doors, they can open them .
We had a great stay and would definitely stay there again.Location is great and the listing is as advertised. Easy to reach the property manager. Would recommend if looking for a 3 bedroom property.
The cabin was cozy, great location, and as expected. It was a quick drive to anything we wanted to do and a fairly private feel. Beautiful view and of course we were ecstatic to see bears walking up the road. Our only complaint was the terrible TP and the old drip coffee maker instead of a Keurig :)

Thanks for the review!
We try to provide easy to service coffee options including a recently purchased filter drip coffee maker, french press, and moka pot. Regarding T.P., we use recycled, septic approved product. The mountain environment is sensitive to such things.
Glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again!
Nice cabin! The reason I gave 4 stars is the towels and linens didn’t smell fresh. I would suggest printing directions out prior to leaving. I lost my signal and therefore lost Maps.

Thank you for your stay and glad you enjoyed yourselves! Prior to your stay, the housekeeping including fresh linens were provided about 6 days prior with a return touch up of passage ways and outdoors a day prior. We generally try to time such open periods so that housekeeping itself is done no more than 1-2 days prior to guest arrival to ensure a fresh feel.
It was great! There were no towels for the hot tub by the sliding glass doors but we enjoyed the hot tub very much .

Hi Donna, Glad you all enjoyed Honey Bear. Also, thanks for the comment. We stopped offering hot tub towels several months ago as they kept getting stained/damaged/lost very quickly. We thought all references to this item had been removed in the listing, but found it teferred to in the supplemental guide we send. Hope to see you all again!
Very clean property, great location. We would definitely rent this property again.

About the host

Well-traveled, south-east family with a love for the natural beauty of the area! Grew up vacationing near the Smoky's (in tents) with the family in the 80s.
Why they chose this property
Perfect location for family fun in Gatlinburg!! Stay at home and enjoy the mountain around or use it as the base to go visit the local sights. Honey Bear will fit the bill!
Located 1/2 a mile from Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort and right above Gatlinburg (5 min drive to downtown Gatlinburg and Smoky Mountain Park entrance).
Honey Bear is on a ridge with direct views of Mt LecConte and side views of the mountains behind and to the sides. The chalet gets good natural light from all sides and throughout the day. It had 'good bones' and was ready for a contemporary renovation! Close to everything the area has to offer but with privacy and exceptional scenery!
What makes this property unique
Honey Bear has been renovated and maintained to embrace modern living while maintaining the heart of an 'authentic mountain chalet'. It was never intended as a business, but rather as a place that our extended family would want to come and gather together. We expect high standards and want our guests to have the same experience!
Expect high quality finishes, furnishings 'made in America' , and decorated in a unique and tasteful manner. Think: traditional mountain home, but without sacrificing modern comforts.
After a day of hiking or in the city, there is nothing quite like returning to Honey Bear Chalet to enjoy outdoor grilling, a hot tub under the stars, and movie nights together!
