The house is surrounded by a large terrace with a view of the sea, where you can enjoy yourself all year round. It features two rocking chairs and other comfortable chairs where you can breathe in the sea air in the shade of Aleppo pines. An outdoor shower lets you cool off when you return from the beach. There is also a terrace above the house, offering a panoramic view of the sea and nearby towns, and at night, a perfect view of the starry sky. On the ground floor, the house has a storage shed that can be used to store bicycles and strollers. You can park your car right outside the house or at the popular beaches. The Sibari Lakes, just 7 km away, are well worth a visit, as is the museum, which holds great historical significance. Other charming towns include Trebisacce (where you can buy freshly caught fish), Oriolo Calabro with its famous clock, and Villapiana, a town with an interesting historic centre. There are also thermal springs, such as the picturesque Grotta delle Ninfe, complete with a pool and restaurant. The sea is always very clean, and Villapiana is awarded the Blue Flag every year. The cuisine at the area’s many restaurants is delicious and authentic, and the owners are very hospitable towards tourists, as is the tradition that characterises all the regions of “Magna Graecia.” For those who also love the mountains, we recommend a visit to the plateau of the famous Sila, accessible from the town of Rossano, or a hike along the stunning Pollino.Si range. We also recommend a visit to the Raganello Gorges and the two villages of Civita and Frascineto. Pilgrimage destinations include the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Armi, built on the rocks, and the Basilica del Patire, an elegant church nestled in the woods on the slopes of the Sila. For those seeking a beach holiday, there are numerous well-equipped beaches very close to the house, as well as inviting pine groves that line the public beaches—frequented by numerous seagulls and adorned with the famous white sea lilies.
Supermarkets and other stores are within walking distance, as are the many stalls that enliven the seaside promenade in the summer. There are also more recreational spots, such as seaside dance halls and open-air nightclubs.
