About this property
Kornloftet beautiful home in old barn
Welcome to “Kornloftet”, a beautiful 100 m² home on two floors, created in the old barn at Frishøjgaard.
Kornloftet is located just 400 m from the sea and has been furnished with great care and respect for the original atmosphere, making it a truly special holiday home. This is the perfect place for an adult audience seeking peace, quality time in beautiful surroundings, and stunning nature with lovely walking and cycling routes. Children aged 12 and above are welcome. Here you will find silence and no streetlights to disturb the night sky! The property includes a private, secluded garden and two terraces with various garden furniture.
The home:
The goal of this unique home in the more than 100-year-old barn was to create a retreat for adults—an oasis of calm away from the demands of a hectic everyday life. Many original details have been preserved, including old wooden floors, exposed roof beams, historic gable windows, genuine rugs, and original artwork on the walls. The home has been fully renovated to a high standard with great care to preserve the charm and spirit of the place.
From the hallways on both the ground floor and first floor, large mullioned windows offer full views into the old barn where the farm’s machinery and fodder are stored. A handmade staircase in traditional country style leads up to the cozy, bright rooms and a new, functional kitchen with dining area.
One room features two comfortable seating areas, a TV with Chromecast and internet radio, as well as a sleeping area with a double bed. From the balcony door, you can look through an avenue of very old trees toward the sea and sit cozily by the French balcony—almost up in the trees, “together with the birds.” A perfect spot to enjoy a meal or a glass of wine.
The second room offers views of the courtyard with half-timbered stable buildings, the beautifully designed riding arena, and a small orchard. Here, the double bed can be separated into two single beds if desired.
The beautiful French country–style bathroom on the ground floor is spacious and features underfloor heating. The adjoining garden is completely private and includes garden furniture and a barbecue. In addition to the garden, the home has two terraces: a south-facing terrace with wind screens, garden furniture, and sea views, and a west-facing terrace with a bench and small tables, ideal for enjoying the afternoon and evening sun.
There is free private parking for two cars. As the home is located in a more than 100-year-old existing building, it has unfortunately not been possible to adapt it for small children and babies. Therefore, we cannot accommodate families with young children. Families with children aged 12 and above are very welcome.
Guest access:
Our guests have the entire holiday home—including garden, terraces, and parking—completely to themselves. The property does not have an electric vehicle charger, but there is an EV charging station at Fejø Kro in the center of the island.
