About this property
Light and airy sanctuary one block from the water
Come enjoy an upscale lodging experience a block from the water. Great home in fantastic location. Baywood-Los Osos life offers the opportunity to get away from the hustle/bustle of the city. We offer a very unique peaceful easy living experience that will leave you rested, relaxed and full of zen. We are a five minute drive to Montana De Oro park, and one or two blocks from the restaurants and bars in the little seaside hamlet of Baywood. Fantastic hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, wine tasting and incredible views everywhere. The Sanctuary was uniquely designed with a relaxed beach house getaway feel. Baywood is a throwback beach town, one of the last pristine beach towns in all of California. A truly unique vibe that you will fall in love with. No street lights, (see all the stars) no traffic and no noise other than the faint sound of the ocean in the distance. Yet we are a 12 minute drive into San Luis Obispo and a 5 minute drive into downtown Morro Bay with tons of shops and restaurants.

We really enjoy our stay at the sanctuary! Lovely environment, very relaxing. A short walk to the bay and great local restaurants.
We will definitely return!
The owner was very cordial and helpful. The location is close to market, and many walking distance eateries as well as walking trails and beach kayak access.
We stayed here after watching our son play in a Cal Poly football game. Great location! Close to SLO, and even closer to the water and wonderful restaurants and views. Would stay here again. Rick was great to work with - a wonderful host.
My friends and I enjoyed our stay at the Sanctuary. The communication and access were easygoing. Even though it was a quick trip, we appreciated the experience. Definitely recommend.
The area was really cute, but we spent most of our time away with activities. The property was more run down than I expected, but satisfied our needs for the short stay
The place was great. Everything was clean and uncluttered. It was a block from the bay, and pretty close to anything Los Osos has to offer. Easy to find, normal parking spots - absolutely zero complaints. Would be a great spot to stay if you want to hang in Montana de Oro, or if you just wanted to get away from the standard tourist jive.
The location is great!. Tons of beautiful sites and places to walk and hike close by. Very quiet neighborhood where SLO, Paso, and Cambria are easily accessible. The property is very clean and comfortable. I slept so well in the cozy bedding and wonderful mattress. I’d absolutely stay again. Thank you Rick. 🌻
The property is located in a perfect place next to nature. We loved walking around town and going into different hiking trails all near by rental property. Restaurants, grocery stores and other shopping were within a short drive too.
The place is nicely decorated and makes you feel part of the coast experience. The beds/pillows were very comfy too! We slept very well (and even napped during the day) and felt safe in the area. The owner was great with keeping in touch to confirm reservation and checking in during our stay.
It was a very special treat that we found this place last minute prior to the Holidays 2020.

We are happy you enjoyed your experience Veronica and hope to see you back to our little slice of paradise
Our trip was planned with the purpose of hiking and relaxing and we were able to do both. The location is close to downtown so we could walk around and a short drive to Morro Bay and to Montano de Oro. The area was very quiet. The size of the house was perfect for my husband and I and our son. We had bedrooms on opposite sides of the home. The beds were so COMFORTABLE that we were able to get a good night's sleep. The patio outside one bedroom was nice to enjoy wine and appetizers. We love to cook even when we rent a home so I would say the pots and pans were a little underwhelming but we made do and fixed delicious meals. What we wanted was to unwind after long hours at work and we were able to do that. We came home refreshed.

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Not as it appeared in the listing
We booked the upstairs unit but it was already occupied by another tenant when got there. Called the owner and he did respond promptly. The reason was that the door lock security code was the same for both the upstairs and downstairs units so the downstairs tenants thought they also had the upstairs unit as their security code also unlocked the upstairs unit.
It was not obvious what the Wi-Fi password was as there was information package specifying what it is. The owner did respond after we left with the Wi-Fi password.
The HVAC in the master bedroom was loud. The kitchen cabinetry was worn with doors not closing properly. There was a slight smell in the unit.
Perfect location for an outdoors getaway. Montano de oro minutes away and the property manager was very helpful. We hope to come up again in the spring :)
Our stay at the sanctuary was wonderful. Plenty of space, nicely appointed, great location. The kitchen was well stocked enough to use as a secondary location to cook part of the family thanksgiving meal. We travel to the area regularly and for our purposes I would rank this property a 9/10. The only thing that would make it a 10/10 would be laundry.
My husband and daughter/son in law stayed here as we were attending a wedding in San Luis Obispo this weekend! The small house was cozy, convenient, very close to trails and parks! A beautiful little town!neighbors are kind! It was quite comfortable! We ate some meals in local restaurants and cooked several meals in cute little kitchen! It was a great stay!
This property in Los Osos was a quiet location. We love that it was walking distance to the bay as well as restaurants/food options. There is nearby a nature spots as well. The house was clean and spacious for our needs. Communication with the owner was excellent.
After a month of triple digit weather in our home town we really needed to rest and recharge. We succeeded. Our host was most helpful with all my questions upon arrival, I hope I didn’t bother him too much! Will definitely keep this property in mind for future get always.
Thanks for everything,
Guy
This townhouse has a laid back casual beach style. It was bright and airy. It had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. The main bedroom was massive. It was walking distance to the bay and to an amazing coffee house, Nautical Coffee. The owner was very accessible and nice. Plus they make sell macron at the SLO Farmer’s Market. Yum! This VRBO is homey but a touch dated and could use more comfort seating in the living room. The 3 of us were comfy but if it were 2 couples someone would have been on hard chair.
Loved the restaurant recommendations. We tried Kumas and Nautical Bean. Loved the location. Place was spacious and taken care of. We could walk or take drives to explore. For our first time in Los Osos we loved it.
This property is great. It is walkable to the Baywood area of Los Osos and we took advantage of that. It is close to SLO, Morro Bay, the Montana De Oro park. The house was comfortable and well equipped but we did not cook. I loved all the windows, the great natural light, the shutters, and use of the TV. Rick answered all of my questions promptly and was very helpful.
Although we didn't spend a ton of time on the property as we explored all of the fun beach towns along the central coast, when we did come back to relax it had just what we needed. We loved the beach decor and comfortable beds. A bonus for us was finding a killer yard sale on Saturday morning just blocks from the house. This was icing on the cake for our weekend on the coast. Thanks for sharing your space with us!
