About this property
Sloopside Main House - Bantham, S.Devon, central village location close to beach
Sloopside (main house) is a spacious and contemporary holiday home providing high-quality, comfortable accommodation. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Bantham village on the mouth of the Avon Estuary, the house is within easy walking distance of unspoilt Bantham Beach, popular with surfers, wild swimmers and other water sports enthusiasts. The historic 16th century Sloop Inn is a stone's throw from the front door. Stunning Panoramic views of Bigbury Bay and Burgh Island complete this beautiful place to stay.
The house has a reverse-level arrangement with living spaces on the first floor, making the most of the panoramic views of Bigbury Bay and iconic Burgh Island. It is a beautiful place to spend time with family and friends.
Accommodation:
The front door opens onto a spacious entrance hall with storage for coats and shoes, a cloakroom and a utility cupboard housing the washing machine and tumble dryer.
Just off to the left of the entrance hall are two well-appointed bedrooms that open onto the sunny garden. The main bedroom with en-suite shower room is furnished with a very comfortable super king bed that can also be arranged as twin singles, a wardrobe and a large chest of drawers. Next door is the double bedroom with a comfortable king-size bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Opposite is the family bathroom with basin, WC and a shower over the bath.
To the right of the entrance hall is the bunk room with two sets of full-size bunk beds and a large chest of drawers, and next to that is a wet room with a shower, butler's sink and hanging rack for wet suits and swimmers.
Upstairs is large, airy and mainly open plan with a wide balcony running the width of the house. The well-equipped kitchen area is complete with a large island and breakfast bar, induction hob, oven, combination microwave oven, large fridge with ice box and wine fridge; perfect for preparing meals with family and friends to enjoy inside at the dining table for ten or al fresco in the covered dining area during warmer weather. There is a cloakroom just off the kitchen area.
The living area has a smart TV and two large leather sofas for relaxation. A wood-burning stove makes it cosy during the colder months.
Also upstairs is the first floor bedroom with a tranquil, New England feel, en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath, a wardrobe and chest of drawers. The comfortable king-size bed looks out to sea.
Outside:
Stairs from the outdoor dining area lead down to the sunny private garden with a spacious patio and lawn lined with borders of evergreen hedging. Bench seating, sun loungers and a barbecue are provided, plus a Little Tikes Wendy House for children.
