History of being a premier host with amazing reviews.This home is located on a very private cul de sac and is a great way to get away, make memories, enjoy nature and relax a bit. Plenty of off street parking.This single home is large enough to accommodate a large family. Boasting, large living/dining/kitchen,5 spacious bedrooms including 2 master suites. Wrap around porch and deck provide 270 degree views of beautiful Norris Lake and foliage. State of the art kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Home is fully stocked with everything you need to enjoy your retreat.
3 King size beds, 1 Queen bed, 3 full beds, additional futons, twin bunks and sofa sleepers. The basement family room has three Benchcraft queen sofa sleepers. There is half bath on main and additional half bath in the lower level entertainment area as well as full baths on each floor. Enjoy good conversation on the concrete patio around a fire or just relaxing in the hot tub.
There is a private covered dock for your boat, hours of fishing, swimming and water fun. Easy steps to the water and ATV path if you being your own vehicle.

The home was very clean, beautiful, and easily one of the most well stocked rentals we’ve ever stayed at! We cooked all meals at the home and had everything we needed. The games and extra water supplies were a great plus. The stairs down to the dock are no joke, but we enjoyed the stay!

Overall great stay. Property was very clean and equipped with just about anything you could need during your stay. Driveway was very steep but manageable in my SUV. Stairs to the dock are no joke, but again doable. Hosts were very responsive to questions through pre booking to during our stay. Only thing I could say is maybe the outside of the house could use some maintenance as far as cleaning on the decks. I wish the trees were a little more trimmed also so you had a better lakeview from the decks. Overall, our family had a great time with lots of memories made. Also, plenty of space and bedrooms / bathrooms for everyone.

We came for the long Labor Day weekend, three families with lots of teenagers. To say this home was falsely advertised is an understatement. The positives first: the carpet was new and vacuumed. There were lots of towels. The beds had clean linens and were comfortable enough. There was enough space for our families.The unfortunate negatives: the outside of this house had not been tended to perhaps in years. The hot tub was 1/4 full and had a tadpole floating in it. The deck was rotting away and covered in tree dust and leaves. What should’ve been a nice place to eat our meals while staring at the lake was anything but. Perhaps because no one had stayed here in so long, The hot water heater had become stale and for the first day any running water produced the smell of rotten eggs and was truly awful, stinking up the entire large home. The dryer took hours to dry our towels. The coffee maker literally took 45 minutes to brew a pot of coffee. We had to life the lid off the back of the basement toilet to get it to flush.I’ve truly never felt so duped by a VRBO listing. I have no idea how there are 9.6 out of 10 stars. This house perhaps long ago had amazing potential but it has been let go. We love Norris Lake and love returning there. And fun memories were still made on the water. I suggest to the owners either fix it up or take it off the rental property sites. And feel free to reimburse us for the electronics and amenities

Our family had the best time. There was enough room for everyone and the house was stocked with all the basic necessities and then some! Such a gorgeous house that was clean and comfortable.

Family Vacation

We had a great time! Everything was well stocked, clean and plenty of space for everyone. Michelle was great to work with.Would definitely recommend if you have a large family and just want to unwind and enjoy the lake.

This house was absolutely amazing. The views were beautiful. It fit our family of 7 with plenty of room to spare. I loved the big, dining table thstbwas able to fit us all comfortably. The game room was a hit with our kids. The inly downside was the 209 steps to the lake, down was easy but up was more difficult. We would definitely stay here again. The host was more than easy to get ahold of and responded quickly. 10/10 recommend.

Fun and clean!

We loved our stay! The home was clean, comfortable and fun. Our ONLY complaint was the stairs to the dock. Literally the only thing we didn’t love.

Loved it!

The house was perfectly sized for three families (six adults and six kids). The kitchen is stocked with everything and the basement is a perfect place to hang out. We loved kayaking and paddle boarding. We would definitely stay here again - thank you for sharing your lovely place!!

Annual Family vacation

We were a family of 12. The house was clean, well furnished, host responsive and supplied with all the amenities one would need.The home is set on a steep hill and there are many steps to the water/dock/swim area. There were paddle boards and kayaks. Pool table and video game the teenagers enjoyed. We rented a pantoon boat from the local marina we kept at the house during our stay. I would recommend this home and stay again.

Lovely home!

Their house is beautiful and well stocked with lots of extras for wonderful get away. It is definitely in a very hilly section of the lake which, while lovely, may present quite a challenge to older and younger guests who struggle with stairs. There is plenty of room for gathering together and also privacy with the three story floor plan. We had a great time!

Amazing Home for a Family Vacation

Our family had such an amazing stay at Michelle's lake home. The set up is absolutely perfect for extended families or a couple of families traveling together. The two master suites worked perfect and there was ample space for all the kids. We found an added bonus with the kids toys, pool table and arcade game in the lower rec room. The kitchen had everything you need to prep meals, snacks, baked goods, etc. We are looking forward to coming back again this summer.

Overall, this is a very nice house, with plenty of room for our group of 14, with a great bedroom & downstairs area for the kids. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and everyone had plenty of towels, etc. Great layout on the main floor, but no TV in the great room. View was beautiful. The owners were super responsive related to questions and a few minor issues. Beds were very comfortable! Enjoyed the trails outside for nature walks. One warning - I am glad the weather cooperated - the 20 minute drive up the mountain, though scenic, is not for the faint of heart and the driveway is straight down. In winter, many cars would struggle reaching the house or getting out, if the weather was bad. If you want privacy, this is the place. Very limited amenities are within a 30 minute drive. All that being said, we came prepared for that and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Good for the soul

My family was lucky to find this beautiful retreat in our busy schedule and invite other families to join us. The house was large enough to accommodate multiple families with ease, while still offering cozy little touches to make us feel like we were at a tiny cabin in the woods. Surrounded by trees and the lake, we unplugged from our day to day and reconnected. It was truly good for the soul and something that will quickly become an anual tradition.

Awesome Stay!!!

What a wonderful time! My family's spring break trip to Norris was especially enjoyable at the Big Blue Lakehouse. We loved the sunsets and enjoyed breakfast on the deck. The kids had a lot of fun fishing off the dock. The water was still a little cool, but that didn't stop them from taking a quick plunge. Michelle and her team were really responsive to our questions as we were planning the trip and provided us a number of really fun ideas for day trips while we were here. House has everything you can need and more. It is HUGE! We look forward to our next trip.

Perfect for our large blended family!

Although we had issues with the outdoor hot tub and indoor jacuzzi tub, the house was wonderful and the owners were very responsive and apologetic. The home was perfectly suited for a large family who needs space to get away and still has plenty of room for us all to gather together. There's truly something there for people of all ages. With a fully stocked kitchen and games galore, we needed nothing. The driveway was a little intimidating, but once we got settled in, there was no reason to leave. Thanks for hosting our first Christmas together!

Our best VRBO house we have ever rented

The Big Blue House on the Lake was PERFECT for our large family. We all spread out and never wanted to leave once we got there. The house was SO spacious and the beds and baths AMAZING. It was CLEAN and had everything we needed. We walked in the door, after the daunting drive up the mountain, unloaded and promptly got in vacation mode. We were all needing rest and relaxation and we GOT IT!!! Property managers quickly responded to everything we needed and our stay was the best we have ever had. THANKS!!!! Carol for the Ramers

Fun Times!

The place was well equipped, clean and beautiful! We didn't know how to work the hot tub and Michelle had someone come right out to show us! The steps were intimidating for carrying loads but we did it and it was worth it! Elderly would not be able to do it. The oldest in was group was 72. Driveway was not as scary as some reviews led you to believe. We hope to go back!

Phenomenal experience, great location

Absolutely loved our stay at this property. It is clean, well furnished, obviously kept up, and amazing views of the lake. Thoroughly enjoyed the quiet, set back nature of the property. Was incredibe to sit on the deck and read while drinking my coffee in the morning (coffee maker and Keurig provided!), and heading out on the lake for the afternoon. Overall the kitchen was really well stocked and plenty of books, board games, poker chips, etc. for any inside folk. Ameneties including paddleboards and kayaks were in great shape, easy to access and use for outside folk. Property owners are incredibly communicative and responsive. They seem to care a lot about their guests' experience. Was more than impressed by high quality bedding and toilet paper.

Could have been cleaner

The rental was as described with a VERY STEEP driveway. It could have been cleaner we all thought. Lots of bugs that we vacuumed up so the little babies and toddlers didn't touch them. 3 of the 7 adults all got a stomach 'bug' on the 3rd day of our stay and were sick the entire day. Very unfortunate. The house was a nice size for the 4 families to gather. Kitchen was well supplied and had everything we needed.

Up and Downs

House was outstanding. Couple major drawbacks however. Driveway is straight downhill. Used emergency brake to assist regular brakes. Going up the driveway was equally treacherous. Steps to boat dock (265 of them), need to be completely replaced. Railings as well. Son fell through one of them. Once again, the house is wonderful. Boat dock was great. Location on lake was great. Michelle the owner was great and let us check in early.

Regarding the steps - we were absolutely not aware of any danger and have people that would have tended to them very quickly had we known. Note that all damaged steps have been repaired and/or replaced as of 7/31/22. We continue to work hard to maintain the property and prevent any dangerous situations. I also try to be transparent about the roads and driveway. I can say that I have not had any guests in the four years we have been here that have had any driveway struggles. Again, we so appreciate you staying with us and will continue to work hard to bring a five star experience to all of our guests.

We LOVE our lake home! It is truly our happy place. We are originally from the Omaha, NE area and relocated to Cincinnati in 2015. Norris Lake was a wonderful find for us. We spend a lot of time at the lake house making memories for our three young children and our four grown children and their families. The house brings us so much happiness, and we hope it will for you and your families as well

Why they chose this property

Who could ask for more?! We sit directly on the lake with both steps and an ATV path to the private dock. The home sits in a private community where you will find your own kind of serenity. The wildlife is endless! Coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening on one of the decks will be a highlight of your vacation. From the dock you can fish, swim or catch some rays. A short boat ride away, you will find a jumping bridge. Jimmy's place has phenomenal food and service and a GREAT staff of super friendly people if you are not interested in preparing your own meals. This house comes with everything you could want - extra towels, toiletries, paper products, pots, pans, slow cooker, blender, grill -- you name it...we probably have it!

Quiet! With easy water access to excitement. When we come here...we don't leave! Amazing lake views and mountain views from 360 degrees. Wrap around covered porch on 3 sides allows guests to enjoy nature even if Mother Nature doesn't cooperate.
