Finest Retreats - Dolhyfryd Lodge
Dolhyfryd Lodge is a truly enchanting countryside retreat, set amidst the tranquil beauty of the Welsh landscape. Brimming with period charm and character, this delightful cottage offers a warm and inviting escape all year round. From the moment you arrive, you'll be captivated by its cosy ambience, historic features and the peaceful surroundings that make it so special.
Step outside and immerse yourself in nature, with picturesque countryside walks beginning right from your doorstep. Cross the unique riverside bridge into a sprawling Welsh estate. Whether you're looking for a restful rural escape or an outdoor adventure, Dolhyfryd Lodge offers the perfect balance of relaxation and exploration.
Inside, the house is full of beautiful period details, thoughtful touches and modern comforts designed to enhance your stay. The fully-equipped kitchen enjoys lovely garden views and is a great space to prepare meals, complemented by a separate utility boot room with washing machine and freezer. The conservatory dining area provides the perfect setting to gather together and dine overlooking the garden. For relaxing evenings, the library hall with its open fire is a quiet room to relax, while the drawing room offers comfortable seating, a TV and a second open fire. Little ones will love the charming playroom with Smart TV. A stylish shower room completes the ground floor.
Upstairs, four individually styled bedrooms await. Choose from a super-king-size room with private balcony, a king-size with wash basin, a versatile twin room (zip-and-link to super-king-size on request) with wash basin, and a full-size bunk bedroom—ideal for children. A family bathroom and an additional shower room provide comfort and convenience for all.
Outside, the delightful garden features a lawn, established borders and superb countryside views. Relax beside the stream, dine al fresco at the outdoor table and chairs, or fire up the charcoal BBQ for a leisurely evening outdoors. Wander across the bridge to the wildflower meadow, explore the peaceful estate, and discover the beautiful Dolhyfryd Gardens during your stay.
Located in Lawnt, just one mile from the historic market town of Denbigh, you'll have easy access to its impressive castle, independent shops and welcoming eateries. The charming towns of Ruthin and Mold, both within 20 miles, are well worth a visit for their popular street markets and events. For family fun, try go-karting at Glan y Gors (16 miles), or head north to the sandy shores of Pensarn Beach (10 miles). Colwyn Bay and the North Wales Coastal Path offer breathtaking sea views, while Snowdonia National Park and the National Trust's Bodnant Garden are all within 15 miles—making this an ideal base for discovering the very best of North Wales.
