Aird House enjoys an elevated position at the end of Craignish peninsula offering stunning views over the Sound of Jura to Mull and Gulf of Corryvreckan Whirlpool the tidal race between Jura and Scarba. Walking, wildlife, birdlife, sea fishing or just exploring Craignish are all part of staying at Aird House. Both the comfortable living room with wood burner and separate kitchen/dining room have panoramic views over the Sound of Jura. This warm and cosy house has four bedrooms, a kingsize bedroom upstairs and two cosy single rooms, with the downstairs twin room having the option of being a super kingsize bed on request. There is a family bathroom on the first floor with bath and shower and a separate toilet on the ground floor. Aird House has its own enclosed garden with stunning sea views and garden furniture. Glorious evening sunsets over the islands can be enjoyed equally from the garden or the living room. A short walk takes you to miles of private shoreline with pebbly beaches and the opportunity to view wildlife, birdlife or just relax and enjoy the peace and solitude.
Ardfern village, 2½ miles distant, has a village pub and restaurant, café and takeaway, gift shop, marina with chandlery, village shop, post office. Locally within a few minutes’ drive, activities are offered including riding, sailing, canoeing, fresh water and sea fishing, and boat excursions. The area near the farm offers some of the best walks in the area and this is a perfect opportunity to take in some of the breath-taking scenery. There are golf courses on Seil Island, Oban, and Lochgilphead with Machrihanish Golf course about 1½ hours’ drive south. A 21-mile drive takes you to the local country town of Lochgilphead, which has a variety of specialist shops, cafés and restaurants, swimming pool, golf course, sports centre. Oban, the Gateway to the Isles, is scenic 27-mile drive north with boat trips to islands of Mull, Tiree and Colonsay. You could visit Inveraray, the capital of Argyll further to the East and Campbeltown to the far south on the Kintyre Peninsula.
