Volunteer to rescue turtle eggs on the beach, place baby turtles on the wet sand, and watch as moonlight sparkling off the waves guides them to the sea- 'Sunset Magazine'

Our 'casa' with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. 1 king pillow top bed and 2 queen size pillow top beds. Each bedroom has air-conditioning and walk in tile showers. There are approximately 3,636sq feet of interior space and 1,750sq feet of terraces. The views of the beach and gardens are easily enjoyed from each level, while you are cooking in the open kitchen listening to music and visiting with family/guests. A great kitchen for yourself that is well-equipped. Your own personal Cook and meals available upon request for your stay.

Casa de Colores offers air conditioning in all rooms – a special benefit when the mid-day temperatures heat up. The kitchen is equipped with full size appliances and bottled water is supplied. Bath and bedroom linens are provided.

On the main level for the master bedroom and the living and dining areas you’ll find over 900sq feet of terraces with a living room area that opens onto the front terrace that offers shade and a pleasing combination of indoor-outdoor space.

Up the staircase from the living room is the sunning terrace with more than 825sq feet with its own thatched palapa for shade with panoramic views of the common area gardens, the ocean, the mangroves of the estuary and the mountains. A perfect place for your evening margaritas while watching the sunset, sunbathe, play board games, read a book or just sit and listen to the crashing waves on the beach, and stare at the stars.

Our entire state of Nayarit area enjoys one of the most favorable climates in the world. Average daily year-round temperatures range from highs of 80-85 degrees (perfect beach weather) to lows of 60-70 degrees(perfect sleeping weather). Swim year round, but consider packing a light sweater for the evenings in the winter months. Rain, when it falls, generally occurs between June and September as night-time or pre-dawn thundershowers.

Canoe or swim across the estuary for lunch at one of Platanitos’ six sand floored, oceanfront restaurants. Enjoy a walk or a barefooted run on over 5 miles of uninhabited sand beach that is lined with palm trees and goes on as far as the eye can see. The ocean waves are great for boogie boards, surfers, and ocean kayaks. The large community pool and the new 65 ft lap pool are just steps from Casa de Colores. Volunteering to help the Turtle Camp research facility preserve the endangered sea turtle population is a popular guest activity. Even small children can participate in the release of hatchlings - sometimes as many as 1,000 in one evening.

Playa Las Tortugas has kilometers of uncrowded, clean sand beach, and a number of activities both on property and nearby such as Surfing, Wave Kayaking, Boogie Boarding, Fishing, and Shelling, Canoeing, Whale Watching, Bird Watching, Walking or Running on Miles of Sand Beach, Frequently there is one festival or another in small towns within an hour of our location. There are a number of excursions you might take, with or without a guide. Let us know we can arrange it.

We are happy to arrange transportation for you in our private shuttle, you may rent a car and drive yourself which a large number of our guests do. We can send you details on the numerous car rental companies. It’s quite easy to find your way from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport to Playa Las Tortugas, and the roads are normally well-maintained. Your valid driver's license is accepted in Mexico, and the driving rules are virtually the same as most countries. Write us for a copy of detailed driving instructions and a map. Your scenic drive north from the airport takes less than 2 hours and goes through areas of old-growth jungle and coastal hills.
