About the host
Hosted by Katie
I’m Katie, a London-based designer, and I’ve lived and worked in central London for over 25 years. This is our family home, where I live with my two teenagers.
I’ve been hosting for many years and aim to offer a calm, comfortable and well-considered stay, with clear and responsive communication throughout. I’m always happy to share thoughtful local recommendations to help guests make the most of their time in London.
Why they chose this property
Whitechapel is one of the most well-connected and culturally rich parts of London. It sits between the City, Shoreditch and Spitalfields, so you’re within walking distance of some of the best food, markets and galleries in London.
The Elizabeth Line makes getting across the city and to Heathrow incredibly easy - a real advantage for both short and longer stays. Within a 5-minute walk, you also have access to the District and Hammersmith & City lines, Overground, DLR, as well as buses and night buses, making it easy to get anywhere in London at any time.
What I love most is the mix of old and new - historic streets alongside independent shops, galleries, and some of London’s best food, flower and vintage markets. There’s a real sense of everyday London life here, all within minutes of major landmarks.
What makes this property unique
A full Victorian townhouse in central London is increasingly rare. Unlike most listings in the area, this is not a flat but a spacious, four-storey home with over 2,200 sq ft of living space.
The house combines original period features - including fireplaces, sash windows and a roll-top bath with modern comfort and a practical layout that works well for families and groups.
With multiple floors, generous living space, and room to dine and relax together, it offers the feel of a real London home rather than a temporary stay.
