Welcome to Valmere Retreat, your stunning home from home in the heart of Windermere. Just a 10-minute walk from the train station, this completely renovated Lake District Cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the World Heritage Site. With an open-plan living space, two en-suite bedrooms, and everything you need for a Lake District break, it’s a great spot for couples, friends, or small families.

Valmere Retreat was once part of the historic church hall at St. Mary`s which has been thoughtfully converted into just five unique cottages, each retaining the character of the original building.

The cottages are true heritage conversions, offering guests a chance to stay somewhere with a genuine connection to the town’s past.

The cottage has been recently completely renovated to provide a luxury home from home.

Inside:

Living & Dining: Light, open-plan space with a modern sofa, smart TV, log burning stove and a dining nook for four.

Kitchen: Open plan to the lounge and dining area, this stunning kitchen is fully equipped with range cooker with induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, and all the essentials.

Downstairs has underfloor heating throughout with tiled floors. Upstairs has carpets with radiators and air conditioning.

Bedrooms: Two inviting bedrooms; one king size and one twin each with their own beautifully appointed en-suite shower room with heated towel rail, toiletries and fresh towels included. Both bedrooms have air conditioning units making those warm summer evenings more comfortable.

Outside:

Sunny rear patio area with dining table and chairs, ideal for dining al fresco after a long day exploring.

Parking for 2 vehicles at the property. Please note that the entrance lane is narrow. Wide vehicle drivers will need to be aware of this. Vehicles of 1.9 to 2 metres max.

While our friendly team at Laik won`t be present physically for your check-in, we operate a seamless self check-in process to give you privacy and convenience.

Only 10 minutes walk to the train and bus stations, Valmere Retreat places you smack-dab in the centre of Windermere village, however, the cottage is tucked away on a quieter residential street, offering you peace and quiet.

With bars and restaurants just a brisk 5-minute walk away, you`ve got the best of Windermere`s social scene at your fingertips - without any of the noise.

Pop across the road and you`ll discover Orrest Head, a true gem of the Lake District with a fab view. It`s a short climb, perfect for a dreamy sunset or a daytime picnic - definitely a must-see!

Lake Windermere and the postcard-perfect village of Bowness are just down the hill. A leisurely 20-minute walk or a quick 5-minute bus or taxi ride will get you there in a jiffy.

And here`s a hot tip: Nearby, at 9 Church Street, you can hire bikes from Total Adventure Bike Hire. It`s a fantastic way to explore our local area - grab a bike and get ready for an unforgettable Windermere adventure!
