The magnificent Lake District Fells provide the ideal setting for the settlement. The village is traversed by the Cumbria Coastal Path and the Allerdale Ramble. Both the renowned Silloth Golf course and the Maryport Golf Course offer links golf. You can travel quickly to the ancient city of Carlisle, cross the border to Gretna Green, experience Hadrian's Wall's 2000-year legacy, or spend fun-filled days exploring the picturesque Western Lakes and fells, where there are a variety of things to see and do, including Hadrian's Cycleway where you can enjoy the breathtaking views while travelling. For mountain bikers and walkers, the breathtaking Whinlatter Forest Park in the vicinity of Keswick is a haven, and for the more daring, the Go Ape high wire adventure course is perfect. Allonby is a wonderful year-round getaway that makes a great starting point from which to explore the region.
