Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, tourers and those just looking for a relaxing holiday break.
You can easily visit the Southern areas of the Lake District, Windermere, the largest lake in the Lake District can be accessed by the M6, around an hour and a half drive for a beautiful boat ride across that Lake, and the steam train in Hasslethwait via the M6, or take the more scenic route along the coastal road.
Solway Coast is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that stretches north to Carlisle and south to Allonby Bay; perfect for cycling (Hadrian’s Cycleway, Maryport–Allonby route) and walking. Burness-on-Solway is worth a visit to see a stunning sunset, there are milefortlets and the Discovery Centre in Silloth to explore remnants of Hadrian’s Wall and Roman coastal defences. Around 3 miles away is Brayton, which has a Fishery and a Golf course. If you don’t have a car, there is a bus route opposite the property driveway.
