The Space:

Solas is a detached stone cottage situated on a hillside in the friendly crofting community of Camuscross, ten miles from the village of Broadford on the Isle of Skye. This cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms, consisting of two doubles, as well as a ground floor bathroom. The cottage also has a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with multi-fuel stove. Outside there is off road and roadside parking for one car, as well as a front lawned garden. Solas is an ideal base for exploring the Isle of Skye, as well as venturing onto the mainland. PLEASE NOTE: This property can only accept one booking within a Saturday-Saturday period. Full 7 day Saturday-Saturday bookings preferred. Please note: Electric vehicle charging is not permitted at this property. Scottish Licence - HI-31096 - F



The Neighborhood:

Broadford is the second largest village on the magical island of Skye. Views that can be seen from the village extend out to the Isle of Pabay and to the Applecross mountains on the mainland. There are shops, hotels and craft stalls in Broadford, plus close by is the Sleat Peninsula known as the Garden of Skye, and the Skye Bridge, which gives access to the mainland.

Great location with beautiful scenery, including ocean view. About 20 minutes drive from Broadford. There are a few quirks with radiators, hot water heater etc so you have to read the instruction book upon arrival. Beds are full size (by U.S. standard), so it’s a bit tight to fit two people in a bed. Kitchen is well equipped. Nice fireplace in the living room.Overall a lovely stay!

Cosy haven

We really enjoyed the cottage because it was ideal for the wet and cold weather conditions we experienced during our week on Skye. The spacious but warm living room with great view, big tv media system and lots of books meant it was easy to spend time in the house without feeling couped up. It is fairly far along the road but this comes with the plus of extra peace and quiet. We'd love to visit again.
