About this property

Host & Stay | Beachcomber Cottage Apartment

Summary:

Tucked away in the charming old village of Poulton in the coastal town of Morecambe, this unique one-bedroom holiday let offers a delightful escape just a minutes walk from the beach. With partial sea views and so close to the promenade, renowned for their breathtaking sunset skies, it’s the perfect base for a relaxing seaside getaway.

The property itself is full of character, thoughtfully styled to evoke a mid-century fisherman’s cove cottage with a playful twist of tiki glamour. Expect warm colours, nautical touches, and retro-inspired details that create a cosy, peaceful haven, yet vibrant atmosphere throughout.

The space is both comfortable and artistic, featuring original oil paintings by the artist designer owner, which adds a personal and creative touch to the décor. The living area is ideal for unwinding after a day by the sea, while the bedroom offers a snug retreat for restful nights and a staircase descends into a walled patio garden.

Whether you're enjoying a morning stroll along the shore, watching the sun dip below the horizon, or simply soaking up the quirky charm of the space, this one-of-a-kind coastal hideaway promises a memorable stay.

The Space:

Step into a Mid Century fisherman's cove cottage filled with jewel colours and the turquoise, blue, greens of the sea with scattered shells. The lounge is playfully styled and elevated by a bold deep turquoise wall and subtle touches of tiki-inspired decor. A bright and characterful living space that perfectly captures the property's quirky coastal charm. Flooded with natural South facing light from a large picture window, and a second with sea view, this inviting lounge is the ideal place to relax after a day by the shore. Comfortable leather seating is paired with velvet cushions, while a Bamboo coffee table and matching dining set add warmth and texture to the space. A cosy dining nook by the window provides the perfect spot for morning coffee, sunset drinks, relaxed dining or writing a book, while carefully chosen decorative pieces – including coastal accents and original oil paintings – give the room a personal, artistic feel.

In the kitchen, fresh cream walls and cabinets showcase accents of navy and white mixed with zesty lemon and lobsters. It continues the property’s blend of practicality and personality, offering everything you need for a comfortable self-catering stay. Bright and neatly laid out, the space features ample worktop area, well equipped with modern appliances including an oven, hob, microwave, and fridge-freezer, as well as plenty of storage for longer stays. Warm wood-effect flooring and clean cream cabinetry are complemented by decorative touches, creating a welcoming and homely feel with natural light filtering through, making the kitchen a pleasant space to prepare meals. At the far end, a charming feature wall of coastal inspired wallpaper adds a playful nod to the seaside setting, tying in beautifully with the property's quirky fisherman's cove theme. There's also a convenient washing machine, making this kitchen as functional as it is stylish - perfect for cooking everything from quick breakfasts to evening dining.

The bedroom offers an inviting retreat, styled for comfort and relaxation. A cosy double bed takes centre stage, dressed in vibrant, eye-catching bedding that adds a splash of personality while maintaining a restful atmosphere. A large picture window fills the room with natural light, creating a bright and airy feel throughout the day. The soft melon sorbet green feature wall brings a calming, nature-inspired tone to the space, perfectly balancing the bolder accents. Practical yet stylish, the room includes a large cupboard, a sleek wardrobe and a chic vanity unit, providing plenty of storage and a dedicated spot to get ready for your day out. Whether you’re winding down after a seaside stroll or enjoying a lazy morning lie-in, this bedroom is a comfortable and tranquil haven.

The bathroom is bright and modern with accessories of amber to topaz, tortoiseshell and stone effect cushioned flooring, offering a relaxing space to unwind. Crisp half-height tiling adds a sleek, contemporary feel while keeping the room easy to maintain. A full-sized bath with an overhead shower unit provides the best of both worlds—perfect for a quick refresh after a day exploring the coast or a long, soothing soak in the evening. Finished with simple, stylish fittings and a light, airy atmosphere, the bathroom complements the property’s overall blend of comfort and interior design.

The apartment has its own walled patio garden secluded by walls on three sides and a fence entrance, with plants, two chairs and a coffee table. A barbeque is available for guests kept inside the under stairs shed.
